This role blends <strong>hands-on product execution</strong> with <strong>strategic product leadership</strong>. You’ll spend meaningful time acting as a product owner—writing stories, curating backlogs, and running refinements—while also owning <strong>customer discovery, competitive intelligence, and product strategy</strong> for your product area.</p> <p>This role reports directly to the <strong>VP of Product</strong> and works closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Sales, Support, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.</p> <p><strong>What You'll Be Doing</strong></p> <p><em>Product Strategy &amp; Discovery</em></p> <ul> <li>Own product strategy for your domain, aligning customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.</li> <li>Conduct regular customer and user research through interviews, feedback analysis, and usage data.</li> <li>Define and evolve multi-persona product experiences for complex B2B customers.</li> <li>Perform competitive and market intelligence to inform roadmap decisions and positioning.</li> <li>Translate company-level strategy into clear product initiatives and outcomes.</li> </ul> <p><em>Product Execution (Product Owner Responsibilities)</em></p> <ul> <li>Own and prioritize the product backlog in close partnership with Engineering.</li> <li>Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.</li> <li>Lead backlog grooming and sprint refinement sessions.</li> <li>Collaborate daily with Engineering and Design to ensure high-quality delivery.</li> <li>Make pragmatic tradeoffs between scope, speed, and quality.</li> </ul> <p><em>Cross-Functional Collaboration</em></p> <ul> <li>Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Support, Sales, and Marketing.</li> <li>Act as a clear, credible product voice with internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Support go-to-market efforts by aligning roadmap priorities with customer and revenue needs.</li> <li>Communicate plans, progress, and tradeoffs effectively to leadership.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></p> <p><em>Required Experience</em></p> <ul> <li>5-8 years of Product Management experience in <strong>B2B SaaS</strong> environments.</li> <li>Prior experience managing or mentoring others (formal or informal).</li> <li>Experience building <strong>multi-persona B2B products</strong> with complex workflows.</li> <li>Proven success helping scale products or companies from roughly <strong>$10M to $100M ARR</strong> (or similar growth stages).</li> <li>Strong experience balancing <strong>strategic thinking</strong> with <strong>hands-on execution</strong>.</li> <li>Experience acting as a Product Owner within Agile/Scrum teams.</li> <li>Strong technical fluency for a PM (APIs, system concepts, tradeoffs—even if you don’t code).</li> <li>Solid understanding of UX and design principles; comfortable collaborating deeply with designers.</li> <li>Strong business acumen and ability to tie product decisions to revenue, retention, and growth.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable.</li> </ul> <p><em>Nice to Have</em></p> <ul> <li>Experience with B2C or consumer-grade product experiences.</li> <li>Experience working closely with Support or Operations teams.</li> <li>Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.</li> <li>Experience building internal tooling or platform-style products.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why this role is Compelling</strong></p> <ul> <li>High ownership and influence over product direction.</li> <li>Direct partnership with executive leadership.</li> <li>Opportunity to shape both the&nbsp;<strong>product</strong> and the <strong>Product organization</strong> as the company scales.</li> <li>Meaningful exposure to customers, strategy, and execution—not just one slice of product work.</li> <li>A team culture that values collaboration, clarity, and doing the right thing for customers.</li> </ul> <div> <p><strong>Compensation</strong></p> <p>In line with Ontario’s Pay Transparency legislation, the expected base compensation for this role is $160,000 -190,000 CAD annually with actual earnings dependent on experience, skills, and performance.This is a&nbsp;<strong data-start="1625" data-end="1644">vacant position</strong>, and we are hiring with intention and seeking someone who will bring new perspective, contribute meaningfully to the team, and grow with the organization.</p> </div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>Why you’ll love working at Cardata:</strong></p> <p>We’ll be honest — Cardata isn’t for everyone.
