We are committed to inclusive hiring and to a culture where people of all identities and backgrounds can thrive, grow their careers, and bring their full selves to work.</p> <p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>We're looking for a software engineer with a strong backend focus who wants to <strong>own things end to end</strong>. <br>You'll <strong>join the Stance team</strong> to design, build and run the services behind At-Bay Stance, our unified security platform, which is used by 10,000+ users at small and mid-sized businesses.<br>You'll own systems in production: shaping their architecture, shipping new capabilities into a live system, and keeping them healthy at scale.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Own services end to end</strong>: design, build, deploy and operate backend services, and be the go-to person for the ones you own.</li> <li><strong>Drive design and architecture</strong>: write design docs, weigh trade-offs, and shape how our microservices, data and events fit together.</li> <li><strong>Ship into a live system</strong>: introduce new capabilities and integrations into production safely, using feature flags, gradual rollouts and backward-compatible changes.</li> <li><strong>Write quality code</strong>: well-tested, organized and robust code that supports a fast-growing organization.</li> <li><strong>Solve hard problems</strong>: tackle complex engineering challenges on systems that are critical to the company.</li> <li><strong>Work in a modern environment</strong>: continuously integrated and deployed code on cloud infrastructure.</li> <li><strong>Build for real users</strong>: work on user-facing features where latency, correctness and a smooth experience matter.</li> <li><strong>Monitor and debug at scale</strong>: own observability for your services (logs, metrics, traces, alerts) and trace issues across distributed, event-driven flows.</li> <li><strong>Take part in on-call</strong>: respond quickly to production issues, find root causes, and fix them for good.</li> <li><strong>Work across the product</strong>: work closely with product managers, designers, QA experts, architects and experienced developers, communicate openly across our international teams, and step into React code when a feature needs it.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of hands-on backend engineering in Python (preferred).</li> <li>Experience with event-driven architecture: SNS/SQS, Dapr, Kafka or similar.</li> <li>Proven ownership of production systems: you've designed, shipped and operated services that real users depend on.</li> <li>Strong system design and architecture skills: microservices, RESTful APIs, data modeling.</li> <li>Experience building and running user-facing applications at scale.</li> <li>Hands-on production monitoring and debugging: logs, metrics, distributed tracing, alerting (e.g. Grafana, Sentry, Datadog or similar).</li> <li>Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query performance.</li> <li>Experience with cloud production environments (AWS), Docker and Kubernetes.</li> <li>A learning mindset: you pick up new tools, domains and codebases quickly, including frontend code when needed.</li> <li>Excellent communication in Hebrew and English.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Frontend experience with React is a bonus.&nbsp;</li> <li>Workflow orchestration (Orkes/Conductor, Temporal or similar).</li> <li>Knowledge of cyber security or networking.</li> <li>NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB or MongoDB.</li> <li>Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring other engineers.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you'll get</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary in a hyper-growth company redefining commercial insurance.</li> <li>A strong emphasis on work-life balance: Hybrid model, Wellness days, and more.</li> <li>Beautiful offices in Azrieli Sarona, Tel Aviv, steps away from train and bus lines.</li> <li>A collaborative, fun, and passionate team that loves solving tough problems together.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Azrieli Sarona, Tel Aviv, Israel (hybrid)</p> <p>Learn more at <a href="https://www.at-bay.com">at-bay.com</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
