This role is <strong>design-led</strong>, with a strong emphasis on translating creative vision into polished, high-performing digital experiences.&nbsp;You will work at the intersection of design and execution—partnering closely with our Creative and Web teams to bring visually compelling concepts to life within WordPress and other CMS-driven environments. This is not a pure engineering role; success in this position requires a strong aesthetic point of view, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and elevate creative direction.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and build visually compelling digital experiences that reflect Excel’s premium brand standards</li> <li>Own the execution of <strong>WordPress-based sites and CMS-driven digital properties</strong></li> <li>Translate creative direction, wireframes, and design concepts into high-quality digital outputs</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Creative, Social, Talent, and Brand teams to deliver engaging digital products</li> <li>Partner with the web development team to ensure seamless functionality and performance</li> <li>Maintain and optimize existing digital properties across the organization</li> <li>Ensure all work adheres to strict brand guidelines and visual standards</li> <li>Stay current on emerging tools and workflows, including <strong>AI-assisted design and development tools</strong></li> <li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organization and attention to detail</li> <li>Maintain efficient workflows, structured file management, and clean handoffs</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Education &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design or related field, or equivalent experience</li> <li><strong>5+ years of experience</strong> in digital design with hands-on CMS/WordPress execution</li> <li>Experience within a major agency, media company, or sports-related organization preferred</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong portfolio demonstrating <strong>high-level digital design work</strong> across web and CMS platforms</li> <li>Expert proficiency in <strong>WordPress (theme customization, page builders, CMS management)</strong></li> <li>Solid understanding of <strong>HTML5, CSS</strong>, and front-end best practices (executional knowledge, not engineering-heavy)</li> <li>Experience with <strong>Figma</strong> and modern design collaboration tools</li> <li>Familiarity with additional CMS platforms is a plus</li> <li>Working knowledge of <strong>AI tools</strong> in design/development workflows</li> <li>Strong understanding of layout, typography, and digital design systems</li> <li>Ability to interpret and execute within strict brand guidelines</li> <li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills</li> <li>A <strong>design-first thinker</strong> with the ability to bring concepts to life digitally</li> <li>Passionate about sports, culture, and building a career in the sports industry</li> <li>Highly detail-oriented with strong aesthetic standards</li> <li>Collaborative and comfortable working across multiple teams and stakeholders</li> <li>Organized and capable of managing multiple fast-moving projects</li> <li>Client-focused with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement</li> <li>Professional, reliable, and solutions-oriented</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The pay range for this position is: $100,000- $120,000 per year.
