Our Internal Medicine service is growing, and we're looking for an experienced<strong> </strong>Veterinary Assistant to join our<strong> </strong>Internal Medicine Specialist and team in providing compassionate, collaborative, and advanced medical care to pets throughout the Pacific Northwest.</p> <p>This is more than a traditional veterinary assistant position. Internal Medicine patients often require long-term care, advanced diagnostics, and ongoing client education. We're looking for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships with clients while providing exceptional hands-on patient care.</p> <p>If you are compassionate, dependable, eager to learn, and thrive in a collaborative specialty environment, we'd love to meet you.</p> <hr> <h2>What You'll Do</h2> <p>As a Veterinary Assistant on our Internal Medicine team, you'll play an essential role in supporting our specialist and patients by:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assisting our Internal Medicine Specialist and team with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments</p> </li> <li> <p>Safely restraining patients for examinations, imaging, procedures, and treatments</p> </li> <li> <p>Preparing patients for advanced diagnostics and specialty procedures</p> </li> <li> <p>Obtaining patient histories and maintaining accurate medical records</p> </li> <li> <p>Providing compassionate and professional client communication, including patient updates, appointment coordination, and discharge instructions</p> </li> <li> <p>Maintaining treatment areas, stocking supplies, and ensuring efficient daily workflow</p> </li> <li> <p>Collaborating closely with our Emergency and Specialty teams to provide seamless patient care</p> </li> <li> <p>Delivering exceptional service to every patient and family that walks through our doors</p> </li> </ul> <hr> <h2>What We're Looking For</h2> <p>We're searching for someone who brings both technical skill and genuine compassion.</p> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum <strong>3 years of veterinary assistant experience</strong></p> </li> <li> <p>Strong patient restraint and animal handling skills</p> </li> <li> <p>Comfortable communicating with clients in both routine and emotionally sensitive situations</p> </li> <li> <p>Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities</p> </li> <li> <p>Positive attitude with a desire to continually learn and grow</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team</p> </li> <li> <p>Current Washington Medical Veterinary Clerk License preferred</p> </li> <li> <p>Candidates who do not currently hold a Veterinary Medical Clerk License must be willing to obtain one.
