The DSN supervises the LPN School Nurse Assistants and all health services and leads collaboration with the School-Based Health Center (SBHC).  This is a 12 month role supervised by the Director of Centralized Operations.  Core Responsibilities: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Planning and Supervision <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Provide close supervision and support to assigned LPN School Nurse Assistants at each campus.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Collaborate with the Director of Centralized Operations for compliant and well-planned school nursing services.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Work collaboratively with the clinical team, SBHC, and school liaisons to ensure robust and well-integrated health services to youth and families.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Nurture and support critical relationships with school leadership and other key partners.  </li> </ul> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Record Management and Oversight: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Oversee entry of valid physicals and dental exams into the electronic record.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Review physicals to ensure all health information is entered into the electronic record.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Review pertinent physicals for further care or triage to the SBHC.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Lead research, recording, and outreach to parents for 100% compliance with vaccine mandates and specified timeframes.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Lead all reporting to the state, including SHARRS and vaccine reports, and communicate with funders as needed.  </li> </ul> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Communication and Coordination: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Oversee program calls and letters to parents regarding missing medical records.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ensure scheduling and support for dental provider appointments.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Obtain consents for all required grades and beyond.  </li> </ul> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Health Services Administration: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Provide student health services.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ensure that students are triaged as appropriate to the SBHC when open and necessary.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Oversee inventory and supplies for screening and health services.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Develop, collect, and guide care plans for students with chronic conditions.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Assume responsibility for the medical component of all 504’s and IEPs in the school.  </li> </ul> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Screening and Quality Assurance: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Assist LPN with weekly screening of all students.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ensure 100% fidelity in the workflow for comprehensive screening and SBHC follow-up.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ensure the quality and accuracy of LPN screening, documentation, and scheduling of parent and SBHC follow-up appointments.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> Additional responsibilities: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">COVID-19 screening and management of other infectious conditions in the health room, oversight of COVID testing under purview; </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Other duties as assigned. </li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <div class="clHeadSecondary"> <h2>Qualifications</h2> </div> <div class=" row"> <div id="jobQualifications-row" class="row formRowStandard "> <div class="formLine"> Education and Experience:  <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">RN/BSN,  </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Certified School Nurse Certificate or Emergency School Nurse certificate obtained within the first two months with tuition assistance. </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Strong school nursing experience and clinical instincts. </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Strong understanding and command of State law and regulations related to school nursing and clinical scope of practice. </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Strong administrative skills and experience managing mandates.  </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of health concerns affecting school performance: asthma, trauma and mental health, and nutrition and healthy living. </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Proven excellence in building, managing and developing high performing teams.  </li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Strong organizational and communication skills.  </li> </ul> </div> </div> </div>  <div class="content-conclusion"> Thank you for taking the time to apply to Belmont Charter Network.
