Esports Competitive Operations - Rules & Compliance Analyst II, EMEA at Riot Games

<p>The <strong>Rules &amp; Compliance Analyst II </strong>for Riot Esports will report to the Head of Competitive Operations, EMEA and be part of the Competitive Operations Team in the EMEA region. You will join a lean but impactful team of esports professionals to help govern and operate our Riot Esports properties in the EMEA territory.</p> <p>The EMEA Esports team is focused on delivering amazing fan experiences through our regional competitions. Our professional, semi-professional, and organized play tiers in League of Legends, VALORANT, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics, and 2XKO, involve thousands of players and hundreds of organizations competing every week. Riot expects everyone involved in Riot Esports competitions to comply with the Riot Esports rules and regulations.</p> <p>As <strong>Rules &amp; Compliance II, EMEA</strong> you will be responsible for disciplinary and regulatory matters as well as aspects of governance. You will work closely with the regional and global Competitive Operations teams to develop our strategy and tactics for handling complex disciplinary investigations, lead our day to day efforts administering discipline across our esports in the territory, and execute integrity-related programs.</p> <h2>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>Lead discipline and rules enforcement for our professional and semi-professional ecosystems across our multiple esports in the EMEA territory</li> <li>Partner with the Global Head of Rules and Compliance, esports, to level up our existing rulesets, develop new policies and practices to position Riot at the forefront of discipline within esports / sports</li> <li>Provide best practices to our various partnered tournament organizers and the wider EMEA competitive operations team</li> <li>Audit the rulesets of sub-regions within the EMEA territories to ensure their compliance with Global regulations</li> <li>Drive alignment locally and globally to ensure consistency in enforcement and discipline across our different esports</li> <li>Collaborate with the Legal team on compliance issues that arise with our esports across the EMEA territory</li> <li>Design and execute strategy for effective prevention and education programs within the EMEA territory</li> <li>Develop and execute a strategy for managing and engaging with third party government bodies and regulators within the EMEA territory</li> </ul> <h2>Required Qualifications:</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Law Degree degree or experience in the legal field</li> <li>3+ years of proven working experience in the legal or administrative field ( for e.g., as a paralegal, preferably in courts, arbitration and/or sports organization)&nbsp;</li> <li>Highly organized and strong administrative skills</li> <li>Critical and analytical thinking</li> <li>Ability to work independently&nbsp;</li> <li>Reading comprehension, written and oral communication along with attention to details are critical skills</li> <li>Excellent written and oral English proficiency</li> <li>Expert proficiency with Google Suite&nbsp; (Google Docs, Google Slides &amp; Google Sheets)</li> <li>Authorized to work in Germany</li> </ul> <h2>Desired Qualifications:&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>Experience in dealing with disciplinary or integrity matters within sports or esports</li> <li>Experience working within an international environment</li> <li>Knowledge of the esports ecosystem in general as well as the EMEA esports ecosystem</li> <li>Proficiency in another language beyond English, such as Spanish, German, French, Arabic, or Turkish</li> </ul> <p><em>For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players.&nbsp; We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games.
