<p>Reports to: Chief Executive Officer, India</p>
<p>Position Location: New Delhi, India</p>

<p><strong>Position Objective:</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p>As Specialist of Government Affairs and Public Policy, you will drive and defend legislation,</p>
<p>regulations, and government policies that reduce the suffering of animals used for food,</p>
<p>enable increased market share of plant-based and cell-based foods and build relationships</p>
<p>with key stakeholders in order to build support for MFA India’s work, primarily in India.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities and Duties:</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify and develop strategies that further the mission and objectives of MFA’s</li>
</ul>
<p>legislative and regulatory priorities</p>
<ul>
<li>Create and monitor campaigns plans through appropriate research and analysis,</li>
</ul>
<p>monitor and modify as appropriate, and implement strategies to achieve identified</p>
<p>objectives</p>
<ul>
<li>Work at the local, state and central levels, working with legislators and regulatory</li>
</ul>
<p>agencies to advance MFA policy initiatives</p>
<ul>
<li>Work with the Communications and Organizing departments for them to help to</li>
</ul>
<p>maximize the impact of our campaigns and asks by increasing public support and</p>
<p>pressure</p>
<ul>
<li>Build, manage, and lead coalitions to expand support for MFA’s legislative priorities,</li>
</ul>
<p>developing coalitions with a variety of stakeholders where common interests</p>
<p>intersect, including non-traditional coalition members</p>
<ul>
<li>Manage the work product of contract lobbyists to ensure they are delivering results</li>
</ul>
<p>aligned with MFA’s mission</p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare persuasive letters, memoranda, and other written materials</li>
<li>Foster relationships and collaboration with individuals, institutions, and</li>
</ul>
<p>organizations to positively influence and gain support for MFA initiatives</p>
<ul>
<li>Work with legal affairs team to ensure that MFA remains compliant with all laws</li>
</ul>
<p>relating to lobbying</p>
<ul>
<li>Adhere to all people operations/HR and administrative policies and procedures</li>
<li>Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social science.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and proven track record of working with</li>
</ul>
<p>elected officials and bureaucrats to advance legislative, regulatory and campaign</p>
<p>initiatives</p>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of central and state legislative and regulatory processes</li>
<li>Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and</li>
</ul>
<p>the ability to make high impact presentations</p>
<ul>
<li>High level of integrity, interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain</li>
</ul>
<p>trusted relationships</p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to simultaneously work on multiple issues of varying complexity, while</li>
</ul>
<p>meeting time-sensitive deadlines and deliverables</p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member</li>
<li>Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle</li>
<li>Commitment to the mission and values of the organization</li>
<li>Willingness to travel frequently without much notice.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p>
<p>The annual Cost to Company (CTC) for this position is <strong>INR 8,00,000 per annum</strong>, subject to applicable taxes, statutory deductions, and company policies. Additional benefits, if any, will be provided in accordance with the organization's policies and employment terms.</p>
