Programming This position reports directly and has duties assigned by the Controls Engineering Team Leader, and requires coordination with the Controls Project Managers and Field Technicians during system installation.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Review contract documents including plans, specifications, and, project proposals to determine the specific project requirements in order to plan system design.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Author project Requests for Information (RFIs) to be sent to the engineer of record to clarify any potential issues related to system controllability, sequence of operations clarifications, or items that do not meet applicable building codes.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Create installation controls submittals including, mechanical flow diagrams, controller wiring diagrams, valve and damper selection, and project record documents utilizing Microsoft Visio design software.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Coordinate with project manager during review of controls submittals prior to submission for engineer review and ordering of the project bill of materials.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Selection of components that meet project specification requirements while meeting project budget requirements.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Finalizing system sequence of operations for final review by project manager, engineering team leader, and engineer of record review.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Providing technical assistance to Project Managers, and Field Technicians during installation of controls systems.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Providing controller programming for use in project system controllers of complex hvac systems including Air Handling, Chilled Water and Hot water generation plants, and building level energy management controllers.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Ensure proper system operation by coordinating with Field Technicians during project installation and project closeout.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Provide Project Manager and Field Technician support for any third party commissioning of projects.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Provide exceptional customer service for internal and external Familiarity with the concepts of commercial building construction, and, renovation of commercial buildings. Must be proficient in reading and understanding of HVAC Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing plans and specifications.</span></p> <ul> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Experience designing, installing, and, programming building automation systems, experience with Trane systems controllers as a plus.</span></li> <li class="p1" style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical building code. Basic programming experience preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word, and Excel.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND AFFILIATIONS:</strong> This position entails continual learning of current, legacy, and future building automation system controls components. Certifications in any of the following are recommended: ASHRAE, LEED AP, AEE, BCA, NEEBM, AABC. Licenses in any of the following are a plus: EIT, CEM, CBCP, ACP, CCP, CEA, PEM, PE.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS</strong>: Ability to read and compose technical information.
