Hardware, software, cameras, sensors, communications, data and analytics work together in real-world environments to support road safety programs used every day.</strong></p> <p>We are creating a new <strong>Director, Edge Engineering</strong> role in Melbourne to lead the engineering capability behind these systems. You will lead hardware and software engineering and set the technical direction for our international Edge solutions.&nbsp;This is a broad engineering leadership role spanning strategy, architecture, sustaining engineering, product lifecycle, New Product Introduction and engineering performance.</p> <p><em><strong>This is a full-time, permanent &amp; hybrid role, working from our South Melbourne office when on-site.</strong></em></p> <p><strong>What you’ll lead</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead multidisciplinary hardware and software engineering capability across our international operations.</li> <li>Set technical direction and influence architecture decisions for Edge products and platforms.</li> <li>Develop engineering roadmaps that balance sustaining engineering, product improvement and new product development.</li> <li>Improve the reliability, performance, security and scalability of technology deployed in real-world environments.</li> <li>Strengthen engineering processes, standards and delivery disciplines to improve quality and predictability.</li> <li>Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure strong product design, validation and engineering methodology.</li> <li>Build engineering capability through workforce planning, leadership, coaching and effective resource allocation.</li> <li>Partner with Product, Operations and business leaders to translate customer and commercial needs into sustainable technical solutions.</li> <li>Manage key engineering vendors and technology partners.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The technology</strong></p> <p>Our environment spans<strong> Edge computing, hardware and software systems, distributed architectures, networking, systems engineering, computer vision, digital imaging, sensors, signal processing, real-time data acquisition, video analytics, IoT and AI/ML</strong>.
