The LVN/LPT&nbsp;provides direct and indirect medical care requiring substantial specialized judgment and skills based on knowledge and application of the principles of preventative, acute care and health maintenance services.</p> <p><em><strong>Essential Job Duties (other duties may be assigned):</strong></em></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the direct health care of children and counseling children on health care issues;</li> <li>Provides direct and indirect nursing care as required to meet the preventative, acute care and health maintenance needs of client residents;</li> <li>Responsible for nursing assessment, observation, intervention, and documentation of response to health care treatment procedures;</li> <li>Responsible for initiating emergency procedures as determined by agency policy;</li> <li>Performs skilled nursing tasks, including but not limited to dispensing medication, giving TB skin tests, and administering immunizations according to agency policy and procedures;</li> <li>Interacts with other members of the treatment team and attends/participates in cottage meetings and Treatment Plan Review meetings to develop, implement, and facilitate residents’&nbsp;Youth Plan goals and objectives;</li> <li>Demonstrates an understanding of relationship-based/DBT-oriented, trauma-focused and culturally sensitive interventions.</li> <li>Conducts and assists medical staff with scheduled clinics; obtains and monitors the proper use of prescribed medications and medical supplies as needed;</li> <li>Attends Treatment Team meetings, Treatment Plan Reviews and committee meetings as assigned;</li> <li>Provides specific in-service training as established by the agency in areas of general health issues, basic First Aid and infection control, as assigned;</li> <li>Responsible for follow-up between outside providers and internal members of the treatment&nbsp;team;</li> <li>Responsible for other job-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Health Services.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you bring the VDM? </strong></p> <ul> <li>Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) diploma and Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)</li> <li>Experience providing nursing services to children/experience with adolescents is preferred;</li> <li>Experience in mental health preferred;</li> <li>Must be able to perform routine nursing tasks without assistance and independently use both a computerized and traditional clinical records system</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> $30.00 - $35.00 per hour</p><div class="content-conclusion"><hr> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"><strong>Vista Del Mar’s Credentials:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Our nationally recognized clinical programs have been awarded a Gold Seal by the Joint Commission, the highest level of accreditation possible.
