We build the systems, partnerships, and programs that power organized play and create meaningful on-ramps for new players everywhere.</p> <p>We're looking for a <strong>Senior Manager, Play Expansion &amp; Acquisition</strong> to help bring Magic play to new spaces, new audiences, and new markets around the world.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Partner with the Commercial organization to identify, evaluate, and scale play opportunities in expanded retail and experiential verticals.</li> <li>Develop scalable program frameworks that enable Magic play in new environments while maintaining brand and player experience standards.</li> <li>Own strategy and execution across Magic play for new-to-play acquisition initiatives, in established and new verticals, from concept through launch, measurement, and iteration.</li> <li>Establish clear success metrics for acquisition and expansion programs and use data-driven insights to optimize performance.</li> <li>Serve as the primary liaison between the central Play Team and internal international teams on play-related initiatives, ensuring alignment, clarity of ownership, and shared accountability.</li> <li>Build feedback loops with regional teams to surface market insights and inform global play strategy.</li> <li>Ensure all expansion efforts support long-term ecosystem health, balancing growth, retention, and community sustainability.</li> <li>Influence cross-functional stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Organized Play, and Regional teams to drive coordinated execution.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.</li> <li>Proven success launching or scaling programs in retail, experiential, or group-focused environments.</li> <li>Experience crafting and executing acquisition strategies with measurable business impact.</li> <li>Strong strategic thinking paired with operational excellence and follow-through.</li> <li>Ability to influence without direct authority in a global, matrixed organization.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Nice to Have</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience working with international markets and regional teams.</li> <li>Bilingual or multilingual capabilities, especially fluency in Japanese.</li> <li>Familiarity with hobby retail, specialty retail, or entertainment verticals.</li> <li>Experience in live events, organized play, or community ecosystem development.</li> <li>Passion for Magic: The Gathering and tabletop gaming.</li> </ul> <p style="margin-bottom: 11.0px;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 11.0px;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><strong><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;">We are an Equal Opportunity Employer</span></strong></span></p> <p style="margin-bottom: 11.0px; margin-left: -1.0px; margin-right: -1.0px;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;">Wizards of the Coast is committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.
