About the Role

<div class="content-intro"><a href="http://www.60decibels.com/">60 Decibels</a> is a tech-powered impact measurement company that makes it easy to listen to the people who matter most. We've been in business as an independent entity since early 2019, when we spun out of the global Impact Investor <a href="http://www.acumen.org/">Acumen</a>. We believe that the best way to understand social impact is by talking to the people experiencing that impact. It sounds obvious when you say it, but that is not the typical practice for many impact investors, corporations and foundations working to create social change.  We collect social impact data directly from beneficiaries (customers / employees / suppliers) using our network of 1000+ trained research assistants in 75+ countries. We do it quickly and without the fuss typically associated with measuring social impact. Our research assistants speak directly to customers to understand their lived experience; and our team turns all this data into benchmarked social performance reports, with accompanying insights, to help our clients demonstrate and improve social performance.  By making impact measurement simple, scalable, and comparable, we not only enable organizations to improve their products and services; we also help transform what it means to credibly measure impact, ensuring that the voices of those who matter most are always part of the story.</div>About the role: This is a 3-month contract (with the possibility to extend) built for a tech-savvy entrepreneurial mind with strong business acumen and strategic foresight. The role sits within our Signal Team, under supervision of the Signal Growth Lead, and general oversight from the Chief Executive Officer. The role is cross functional, and blends a diverse skill sets such as: data analysis, AI-powered problem solving, digital product development, marketing and sales. One week you may be structuring large and complex data extraction protocols, the next you could be conducting discovery calls with investors and social entrepreneurs.  The main focus of this position is to accelerate the growth of 60 Decibels’  <a href="https://signal.60decibels.com/map/">impact investing ecosystem </a><a href="http://map.we">map</a>. There are clear gaps in the type of data accessible on the market and common pain points in the way stakeholders exchange this information along the value chain.Your challenge will be to take this map from a promising proof of concept, to a value-adding asset for the entire sector. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running with a complex problem, breaking it down using their judgement and knowledge of the sector, to produce tangible outputs, while staying focused on the bigger picture. This role can be based remotely, though in-person candidates are preferred, subject to the candidate having the necessary work authorization. We have offices in New York, London, Bengaluru, and Nairobi. Specifically, the Senior Associate will: <ul> <li>Research the existing landscape of solutions providing data in the impact investing ecosystem.</li> <li>Source best practices and tools to produce similar maps and data sets.</li> <li>Design and iterate various GTM strategies</li> <li>Gather, aggregate, clean, structure and analyse large volumes of data from various internal and external sources</li> <li>Use AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Clay and other emerging platforms) confidently and creatively to accelerate research workflows, sharpen analysis, and raise the quality of every deliverable.</li> <li>Build a data pipeline that is lean, meaning it requires a minimum amount of manual input. </li> </ul> About You: First and foremost, you thrive in an environment where you're juggling multiple things at once, and take personal accountability seriously: when you say you're going to do something, you do it. Above everything else, we are hiring for three things: <ul> <li>Problem solving. When you hit a wall — a messy dataset, an unresponsive campaign, a vague brief — you work the problem. You try things, learn fast, and come back with options rather than questions.</li> <li>Proactiveness. You don't wait to be told. You see what needs doing, you pick it up, and you close the loop. You'd rather move the ball forward imperfectly than wait for perfect instructions.</li> <li>Attention to detail. You spot the stray comma, the duplicate row, the broken logic in a sentence. You double-check before hitting send.</li> </ul> Everything below is useful, and most candidates will have some version of it — but none of it is a deal-breaker if the three above are strong. If your experience looks different but you believe you're the right person for the role, say so in your application: <ul> <li>Some experience (5+ year) in consulting, research, social enterprise, impact investing, international development, marketing, growth, revenue operations, or a fast-paced corporate environment.</li> <li>Strong understanding of the impact investing ecosystem — or strong curiosity about it. Practical experience at an investment fund or around impact reporting is a plus.</li> <li>A natural affinity for data and comfort with analysis. Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills (via AI tools or otherwise), and an easy relationship with new software.</li> <li>Fluency and confidence using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Clay, and similar) to support research, analysis, writing, and workflow automation. You don't need to be an engineer — you do need to be an enthusiastic, resourceful daily user.</li> <li>Superb communication skills, both verbal and written.</li> <li>Great core skills of teamwork and project management, plus the soft skills — with the understanding that they aren't really "soft" at all.</li> <li>A graduate degree (or progress toward one) in business, international development, public policy, or a related field — e.g. MBA, MPA, MPP, MA</li> <li>Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams and a general orientation toward technology.</li> </ul>   Interested in applying?
