About the Role

Operations Lead

Location: New York City (Hybrid, 3 days in office per week)

Kinstead is building the AI-native operating system for independent healthcare, enabling nurse practitioners to launch and run their own clinics. We replace the fragmented, manual infrastructure behind healthcare with a single, intelligent system so clinicians can spend their time on care, not paperwork.

This creates a new model of care, one where clinicians practice on their terms and patients get consistent, community-rooted care. We’re growing quickly, doubling patient visits and revenue month-over-month, and recently closed an oversubscribed round led by Wisdom Ventures (early investors in OpenAI and Anthropic), alongside Expansion VC (Firebase, Carta, Lemonade, Turo) and executives from Flatiron Health, Pomelo Care, and Roivant Sciences.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Founding Operations Lead to help build the operational foundation behind a rapidly growing network of independent nurse practitioner-led clinics.

You’ll own one of the most important parts of the business: turning messy, early-stage workflows into scalable systems that help clinicians successfully launch and grow their practices. You should love to think strategically, execute quickly, and constantly test new ideas.

This is a true 0 → 1 role. You’ll work directly with the founders across onboarding, credentialing, scheduling, patient operations, billing workflows, and customer support to make the platform more reliable, scalable, and operationally excellent over time.

This is a zero-to-one Operations role. You'll be our first ops hire at a company growing quickly, with the mandate to design every core process from scratch, built to scale from day one.

What You’ll Do

  • Build operational systems from scratch: create scalable workflows, SOPs, automations, and playbooks across the clinician journey

  • Own clinician onboarding operations: help new practices launch smoothly across credentialing, scheduling, EHR setup, and operational readiness

  • Improve the customer experience: identify recurring pain points and turn them into better systems and processes

  • Partner with vendors: collaborate closely with operating vendors and ensure that processes are running smoothly with SLAs achieved

  • Stay close to the field: spend time with clinicians and use those insights to improve workflows and operations

  • Use AI thoughtfully: identify repetitive operational work and help automate it

What Success Looks Like

  • Clinicians launch faster and with fewer operational blockers, with high NPS

  • Operational processes become increasingly scalable and repeatable

  • Manual work decreases over time through systems and automation

Who You Are

  • 3–7 years of startup operations, business operations, consulting, or similar experience

  • Strong systems thinking and organizational skills

  • Ability to operate autonomously, with high ownership and strong follow-through

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving quickly

  • Excellent communication skills and good judgment

  • Strong preference for candidates who have worked in early-stage or 0 → 1 environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry

  • Experience building operational systems from scratch

  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, or offshore teams

  • Experience using AI tools to improve operational workflows

How We Work

We use AI tools across the company as a normal part of how we operate. That includes writing internal tools, improving workflows, and reducing manual work.

We look for people who are curious about how things can be done better and are willing to experiment, while still owning outcomes end-to-end.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity as well as a performance-based bonus

  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental benefits

  • 401(k)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Prime office location in Columbus Circle with regular team collaboration and lunches

Compensation

We aim to pay competitively for our stage and the importance of the work. Compensation includes base salary, performance-based bonus, equity, and benefits, and is designed to align long-term incentives with the impact you’ll have at Kinstead.

In accordance with applicable laws, we provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. Final compensation will depend on a number of factors, including experience, skillset, and leveling, as well as internal equity considerations. For this role, the estimated base salary range is $100,000 – $125,000, with additional upside through performance-based compensation and early-stage equity.

At Kinstead, we’re building infrastructure for healthcare that serves entire communities—not just a narrow slice of them. That requires a team with diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and ways of thinking. We are committed to hiring people from a wide range of backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, religion, disability, and veteran status. We believe better teams build better systems—and better systems lead to better care.
