As a CMA, you will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative expertise to ensure efficient operations and excellent patient care.  The ideal candidates will have a passion for delivering high-quality care to patient care to seniors.  Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others! Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Help residents with personal hygiene, such as providing bedpans and helping them bathe</li> <li>Safely lift and reposition residents as necessary</li> <li>Have an eagle eye, taking notice when resident behaviors change and letting shift leaders know</li> <li>Accurately and timely administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedule.</li> <li>Accurately administer and timely document regularly prescribed medications, as permitted, after personally preparing (setting up) the medications.</li> <li>Accurately administer PRN medications if authorized by the charge nurse.</li> <li>Take and record vital signs of residents, as required, prior to administration of medications which could affect or change the vital signs.</li> <li>Apply specifically ordered ophthalmic, optic, and nasal medications, as instructed; administer oxygen per nasal canula or a non-sealing facemask, in an emergency.</li> <li>Count narcotics, give all routinely prescribed narcotics, document it on individual’s sheet and medication sheet- at discretion of supervisor.</li> <li>See that the medication room, med cart, and refrigerator are kept clean and orderly at all times.</li> <li>Accurately log refrigerator temperature on a daily basis.</li> <li>Report incidents, as directed, on medication errors, accidents, or unusual events, on residents, visitors, or employees; and, as directed, chart some resident conditions or other pertinent information.</li> <li>Restock med cart with ample supplies; check expiration dates on all medication.</li> <li>Follow the Buckner 5STARS of customer service and timely respond to requests for assistance of information.</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li>Current Medication Aide Certification and current Certified Nurse Aide certification</li> <li>CPR/First Aid certified</li> <li>High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) plus a minimum of 1 year prior experience as a nursing assistant</li> <li>Requires proficient ability to speak, read, and write English.</li> <li>Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.</li> <li>Position requires bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of shift.</li> <li>Requires ability to walk, sit, and stand sometimes for prolonged periods of time.</li> </ul>  The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.  <div>About Buckner Retirement Services: </div> <div>Buckner Retirement Services comprises a network of senior living communities across Texas.
