Learn more about us and why we work here at </span><strong><a href="https://www.galileo-ft.com/working-at-galileo">https://www.galileo-ft.com/working-at-galileo</a></strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p></div><p>We are looking for a <strong>Staff Software Engineer</strong> to join our Engineering team.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Architect resilient software components within a distributed Python and C environment (K8s, EKS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, etc).&nbsp;</li> <li>Take full ownership for solving complex problems from inception to execution.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive team and organization strategy with minimal guidance, ensuring technical decisions directly support company goals.</li> <li>Proactively identify and resolve technical debt or process friction, simplifying the codebase and developer experience to improve team velocity.</li> <li>Coach and mentor engineers, to build a high-performance culture. Serve as a subject matter expert who remains approachable.</li> <li>Proactively communicate, identify and mitigate technical risks, navigating trade-offs between system constraints and business impact.&nbsp;</li> <li>Build trust with functional leaders and stakeholders, communicating highly technical concepts into clear dialogue to gain alignment on priorities.</li> <li>Work with Python and C applications&nbsp; to resolve wide-ranging issues, and drive feature implementation.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.</li> <li>6+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack.</li> <li>Experience: 4+ years of experience writing high-quality, production-grade Python.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with Continuous Delivery principles and techniques, including unit testing and build &amp; deploy pipelines.</li> <li>Ability to lead and influence a team's technical direction.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud technologies (RDS, Aurora, Dynamo, EKS, or Lambda) and Kubernetes.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to design resilient software components within a distributed system.<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with Python Flask and/or FastAPI frameworks.</li> <li>Experience developing in C.</li> <li>Domain knowledge in Payment Systems or financial tech.<br><br></li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><div class="gmail_default"> <div class="gmail_default"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></span></div> <div class="gmail_default">The base pay range for this role is listed below.
