Our humanoid is built to operate effectively in both <strong>industrial and home environments</strong>, leveraging advanced AI to <strong>learn, adapt, and interact</strong> naturally with the world around it.</p> <p><strong>Job Description:</strong><strong><br></strong> We are seeking a <strong>Test Automation Engineer</strong> to design, build, and maintain automated testing infrastructure for Figure’s CI, Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and system-level validation environments. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software ensuring every change in the stack is automatically verified against real hardware.</p> <p>You will develop test frameworks, pipelines, and tooling that power regression testing and continuous integration for the humanoid robot. Your work will provide fast, reliable feedback to engineering teams, enabling consistent, data-driven validation across subsystems and full-robot tests.</p> <p>You will have full end-to-end ownership of HIL test systems from initial design-up and build, to test implementation and automation.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and implement <strong>automated test systems</strong> that validate functionality across embedded, electrical, and software interfaces.</li> <li>Develop <strong>Python-based frameworks and CLI tools</strong> to execute tests, collect logs, and generate pass/fail reports.</li> <li>Integrate test automation into <strong>continuous integration (CI/CD)</strong> workflows, enabling automated regression detection.</li> <li>Bring up and validate <strong>new hardware and firmware builds</strong>, ensuring consistent system behavior across releases.</li> <li>Collaborate with Systems Integration, Firmware, and Software teams to define <strong>test coverage, interface contracts, and validation flows</strong>.</li> <li>Diagnose and debug test failures across the stack from hardware faults to software regressions.</li> <li>Manage <strong>data logging, result visualization, and traceability</strong> across automated test runs.</li> <li>Contribute to the design of scalable, reusable <strong>test frameworks and APIs</strong> for future platforms.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in <strong>Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field</strong>.</li> <li>3–5 years of experience in <strong>test automation or embedded systems validation</strong>.</li> <li>Strong understanding of <strong>firmware–hardware interaction</strong> (I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, ADC, GPIO, Ethernet).</li> <li>Proficiency with <strong>Python</strong> for test automation, scripting, and data processing.</li> <li>Proficiency in <strong>Linux-based development</strong> and command-line tools.</li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>CI/CD systems</strong> (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or TeamCity).</li> <li>Experience with <strong>Pytest, Robot Framework, or custom automation frameworks</strong>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Exposure to <strong>hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)</strong> environments or simulation systems.</li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>board-level validation</strong>, power sequencing, and sensor testing.</li> <li>Background in <strong>robotics, automotive, aerospace</strong>, or other complex mechatronic systems.</li> <li>Proficiency with <strong>lab instrumentation</strong> (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DAQs).</li> </ul>
