This role performs quantity takeoffs, compiles pricing, organizes quotations, identifies scope concerns, and maintains complete estimate documentation. Project value is a planning guide rather than a classification gate; assignment complexity, risk, scope definition, and required independence govern the work assigned.</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential Job Responsibilities </strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform quantity takeoffs and develop assigned scope in accordance with bid documents and work breakdown requirements.</li> <li>Compile labor, material, equipment, subcontract, and indirect-cost inputs using approved sources and methods.</li> <li>Solicit and organize vendor and subcontractor quotations; document coverage, qualifications, and missing information.</li> <li>Identify scope gaps, design discrepancies, commercial concerns, and project risks for senior review.</li> <li>Maintain estimate files, assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and supporting documentation.</li> <li>Meet assigned deadlines and participate in estimate reviews, site visits, pre-bid meetings, and turnover activities.</li> <li>Use approved estimating, takeoff, CRM, and document-management systems accurately.</li> <li>Apply review feedback and demonstrate measurable growth toward independent estimate execution.</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p></p> <p class="isSelectedEnd"></p> <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p> <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>0–2 years of relevant estimating, construction, engineering, field, or related technical experience; entry-level candidates with applicable education or training may be considered.</li> <li>Foundational knowledge of mechanical, structural, and light civil construction, including construction documents, quantities, labor, materials, and equipment.</li> <li>Experience or developing knowledge in self-perform estimating, including labor, materials, equipment, production rates, and crew requirements.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications related to: <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Concrete and structural construction</li> <li>Structural steel installation</li> <li>Process piping</li> <li>Process engineering and related industrial systems</li> <li>Light civil/site work</li> </ul> </li> <li>Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for self-performed scopes.</li> <li>Ability to communicate clearly, organize information, collaborate with project teams, and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn required estimating, takeoff, CRM, and document-management systems.</li> <li>Ability to travel periodically to offices, client locations, and project sites.</li> <li>Valid driver’s license and insurability when driving is required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Experience with Accubid, HeavyBid, Salesforce, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or comparable systems.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Potential Hazards:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures</li> <li>Exposure to manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment</li> <li>Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors</li> <li>Exposure to areas with limited visibility</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms, including scaffolding at significant heights</li> <li>Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1–50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks</li> <li>Potential or periodic requirements may include the following: <ul> <li>Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day</li> <li>Standing</li> <li>Sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling</li> <li>Use of respirator if position requires</li> <li>Driving if required to travel</li> </ul> </li> <li>If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability are required.
