Tax Manager at Focus Financial Partners

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Position Summary</strong><br>Gelfand, Rennert &amp; Feldman is seeking a Tax Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and tax aspects related to assigned client accounts. &nbsp;Gelfand, Rennert &amp; Feldman provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. The hybrid work arrangement may be adjusted or altered to fill the needs of the role, including potentially working in-office for 3+ days per week. This position can be based out of our Encino, CA or Century City, CA office on a hybrid basis.</p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Supervision and training of assigned Staff Accountants and assigned Account Managers</li> <li>&nbsp;Review&nbsp;and possible preparation of moderate to complex, multi-state tax returns (individual, S corporation, C corporation, partnership, estate, and trusts)</li> <li>Stay&nbsp;abreast of changing state and federal laws, policies, and economic/political climate which may affect clients’ finances</li> <li>Supervise&nbsp;and review Staff Accountant’s and/or Senior Staff Accountant’s preparation of moderately complex tax returns</li> <li>Conduct tax research and multi-jurisdictional planning, and foreign touring clearances</li> <li>Review financial reports that may include net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.</li> <li>Communication with clients and client representatives via phones, email, and in-person meetings</li> <li>Act as a coach and trainer to develop staff members into efficient and effective client team members, and address performance issues and concerns as needed</li> <li>Assist Managing Director in identifying and onboarding prospective clients</li> <li>Support Account Managers to provide highest level of customer service by assisting with contracts, budgeting, home purchases, tours, and year-end</li> <li>Other projects and duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree with at least 4+ years in a similar role&nbsp;is required</li> <li>Master's Degree, CPA and/or 6+ years in a similar role is highly preferred</li> <li>Basic understanding of AgilLink is highly preferred</li> <li>Familiarity with CCH Axcess required</li> <li>Proven knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws and rule/regulations</li> <li>Sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to follow through</li> <li>Commitment to professionalism and accuracy</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a trusting relationship with staff and clients</li> <li>Prior exposure to royalties, touring services, music publishing and record label administration is highly preferred&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between <strong>$135,000 - $175,000</strong>. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
