About the Role

<div id="isPasted"> <p><strong>Job Title: Medical Assistant</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Type: Part Time</strong> - <em>Monday-Wednesday availability required</em></p> <p>Travel: Yes, regional travel as needed</p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong> The Medical Assistant supports Providers in delivering high-quality patient care while contributing to efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. This role requires strong clinical skills, professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p>Medical Assistants are expected to actively contribute to clinic workflow, maintain professionalism under pressure, communicate effectively with patients and coworkers, and support overall operational success.</p> <p>This position may be scheduled for fewer than 40 hours per week based on operational needs and business requirements. </p> <p><u>Role and Responsibilities</u></p> <p><strong><u>Clinical &amp; Administrative Responsibilities</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms</li> <li>Assist Providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments</li> <li>Obtain and document patient medical history, vitals, and clinical information accurately within the EMR</li> <li>Collect, label, and process specimens appropriately</li> <li>Perform diagnostic testing, as applicable</li> <li>Prepare and administer medications as directed by Providers (excluding controlled substances)</li> <li>Process prescriptions and medication refill requests per Provider instructions</li> <li>Initiate and process prior authorizations as assigned</li> <li>Process incoming voicemails, messages, tasks, and faxes within expected timeframes</li> <li>Maintain accurate medication, supply, and sample inventories</li> <li>Monitor expiration dates and properly discard expired medications or samples</li> <li>Maintain infection control and aseptic technique standards</li> <li>Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain required logs</li> <li>Assist with cleaning, organization, and overall maintenance of clinical areas</li> <li>Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and company compliance standards at all times</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Operational Expectations</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain active participation in clinic workflow throughout the workday</li> <li>Support efficient patient flow, room turnover, and Provider readiness</li> <li>Demonstrate awareness of overall clinic operations and proactively assist where needed</li> <li>Assist teammates during high-volume clinic operations without requiring direction</li> <li>Anticipate Provider and patient needs to support efficient workflow</li> <li>Balance clinical and administrative responsibilities while maintaining productivity and attention to detail</li> <li>Demonstrate a sense of urgency appropriate for a fast-paced medical environment</li> <li>Adapt positively to scheduling, staffing, operational, and workflow changes</li> <li>Support different Providers, locations, or workflows as needed for operational coverage</li> <li>Complete assigned tasks, follow-up items, and documentation in a timely manner</li> <li>Maintain flexibility within the employee’s scheduled availability to support clinic operations and patient care needs</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Professionalism &amp;
