Lead Diesel Mechanic at Via

Our mission is to have a positive social and economic impact on the community by providing a safe and reliable transportation option for all who live, work, or play in Sioux Falls.</p> <p>As a <strong>Lead Diesel </strong><strong>Mechanic</strong>&nbsp;at SAM by Via, you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buses, automotive equipment, and shop equipment.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Direct highly varied and complex operations related to vehicle and equipment service</li> <li>Repair and/or replace any subsystem associated with heavy, medium, and/or light duty SAM coaches and automotive equipment</li> <li>Work with other maintenance workers, drivers, and transportation supervisors</li> <li>Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>7-10+ years of mechanic experience&nbsp;</li> <li>Possess knowledge of the design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and subsystems of SAM coaches and related shop equipment</li> <li>Able to work on their feet eight hours per day, lift 100 pounds, and carry parts, equipment, and supplies</li> <li>Class AA and ASE Certified</li> <li>Hold a valid SD driver’s license</li> <li>Able to obtain a CDL permit</li> <li>Able to pass a pre-employment physical</li> <li>High school diploma or GED equivalent, including trade or vocational school. Additional training at manufacturer’s schools, courses, or seminars is a plus.</li> <li>Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p> <ul> <li>Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.</li> <li>Salary Range: $37.32 / hour&nbsp;</li> <li>Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, 401K with up to 6% company match, holiday pay, vacation, tool allowance, and bonus days</li> </ul> <p>Ready to join the ride?</p> <p><em>Via is an equal opportunity employer.</em></p>
