This role partners with clients, project managers, field teams, and other design disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions, manage project risks, and support successful project execution. The position also provides technical mentorship, conducts peer reviews, and helps drive standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead electrical design projects from concept through startup and commissioning</li> <li>Identify project risks early and develop practical solutions</li> <li>Build and maintain client relationships through strong communication and follow-through</li> <li>Coordinate with other design disciplines, field teams, vendors, utilities, and governing agencies</li> <li>Support estimates and project planning with project managers and estimators</li> <li>Troubleshoot technical issues with field personnel to keep projects moving</li> <li>Review drawings, approve deliverables, and support quality standards</li> <li>Mentor team members through delegation, feedback, and technical guidance</li> <li>Lead meetings, site trips, and project coordination efforts</li> <li>Help improve standards and strengthen accountability across teams</li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">What we’re looking for</span></strong></p> <p><strong>Project Engineer I</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.S. degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program</li> <li>Eligible to complete the FE exam or already EIT certified</li> <li>4–8 years of relevant experience</li> <li>PE license required or eligibility to become licensed</li> <li>Strong understanding of electrical terminology, components, symbols, and NEC</li> <li>Drafting software proficiency preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong>Project Engineer II</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.S. degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program</li> <li>7+ years of relevant experience</li> <li>PE license required or eligibility to become licensed</li> <li>Strong understanding of electrical terminology, components, symbols, and NEC</li> <li>Drafting software proficiency preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams</li> <li>What sets you apart</li> <li>Experience in panel shop, prefabrication, or field work</li> <li>Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills</li> <li>Ability to mentor others and raise technical capability across a team</li> <li>Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects at once</li> <li>Comfort working across disciplines and solving problems quickly</li> </ul> <p><strong>Travel Requirements: </strong>Travel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Travel should not exceed 30% of your time.</p> <p><strong>Compensation:</strong> The pay range for this position is $79,000 &nbsp;to $116,000+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
