<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>The Opportunity </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We are seeking a strong, student-centered <strong>Founding 8th Grade Math Teacher </strong>to help launch PHP’s first year serving 8th grade students. This is a meaningful opportunity for an educator with strong math content knowledge, excellent classroom management, and a deep commitment to preparing students for a successful transition to high school.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Using the Eureka Math curriculum, this teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction that builds students’ conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, confidence, and readiness for the academic demands of high school. As a founding 8th grade teacher, you will also help shape the culture, expectations, and instructional foundation for PHP’s oldest students.</span></p>

<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Deliver rigorous, standards-based 8th grade math instruction using the Eureka Math curriculum</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Build students’ conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Create a structured, engaging classroom culture with clear expectations, strong routines, and high levels of student engagement and accountability.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Differentiate instruction to meet a range of student needs, including intervention, acceleration, and enrichment</span></li>

<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Use student work, formative assessments, and summative data to identify misconceptions, adjust instruction, and plan targeted reteaching </span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify student strengths, misconceptions, and gaps in order to plan targeted support</span></li>

<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong math content knowledge and ability to make grade-level concepts accessible, engaging, and rigorous for all learners.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working in urban school communities and a commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff is preferred.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience using Eureka Math or another high-quality instructional math curriculum preferred</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to build clear routines, high expectations, and a positive classroom culture.</span></li>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Hebrew Public’s compensation model, SuRGE, Supporting, Rewarding, and Growing Educators, is designed to recognize the skill, commitment, and impact strong teachers bring to classrooms. After your first year, you may be eligible for 5% or 10% increases annually based on your classroom impact, without needing additional graduate coursework. SuRGE also includes built-in salary enhancements for valid Pennsylvania certification and hard-to-fill roles, offering a transparent and accessible path for educators to grow their compensation while doing meaningful work with students.</span></p>
