Come join us!</div><h1>Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack (Frontend Heavy) - Content Experience Team</h1> <h2>About the Role</h2> We are looking for a hands-on Full Stack (Frontend Heavy) Staff Software Engineer to join our team and lead efforts in building scalable, performant, and reliable software systems that power the AlphaSense platform. You will play a key role in shaping technical architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering excellence across teams. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering robust, customer-focused solutions. <h2>Who You Are</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Minimum 8 years of software development experience building scalable, high-performing, and robust applications.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong proficiency in JavaScript with solid experience in full-stack development.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Expertise in modern web frameworks such as React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify and codify React performance best practices, architectural trade-offs, and code-level improvements in the existing codebase.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with at least one backend language/framework (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python) </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, multithreading, distributed systems).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Solr/Vespa/Lucene).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Cloud-native development experience with AWS or GCP.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Skilled with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with observability tools and platforms (monitoring, logging, tracing).</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with service reliability, on-call ownership, and incident triage for production systems.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated ability to lead technically within distributed, cross-functional teams.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) as a core part of daily engineering workflow.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Track record of driving AI adoption within engineering teams - establishing best practices, defining guardrails, evaluating tools, and measurably improving team velocity through AI-assisted workflows (a strong plus).</li> </ul>   <h2>What You'll Do</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Design and build high-quality, performant, and scalable software systems across backend and frontend.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Own the technical architecture and reliability of backend services alongside frontend microapps.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Lead technical design discussions, clarify requirements, and deliver effective and maintainable solutions.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Take ownership of full-stack development projects, from backend APIs (Python/Java) to front-end integration.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Serve as architectural glue across multiple domains.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Apply best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native engineering to improve delivery efficiency.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Mentor and coach engineers, raising the technical bar across the team.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with globally distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Drive innovation by evaluating and adopting emerging technologies where relevant.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Build and integrate intelligent features into the platform, leveraging LLMs, agents, and AI frameworks where they add user value.</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Partner with other teams to integrate and optimize intelligent features and workflows within the platform.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion">AlphaSense is an equal-opportunity employer.
