We also believe in taking care of our people—with competitive pay, excellent benefits (including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability), paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.</p> <p data-start="1338" data-end="1362"><strong data-start="1338" data-end="1362">What You’ll Be Doing</strong></p> <ul data-start="1364" data-end="2740"> <li data-start="1364" data-end="1479"> <p data-start="1366" data-end="1479">Set up new jobs and customers within the accounting system, assigning project numbers and uploading project data.</p> </li> <li data-start="1480" data-end="1580"> <p data-start="1482" data-end="1580">Verify new client credentials and assist in maintaining contractor license renewals across states.</p> </li> <li data-start="1581" data-end="1640"> <p data-start="1583" data-end="1640">Reconcile daily electronic payments and deposit activity.</p> </li> <li data-start="1641" data-end="1762"> <p data-start="1643" data-end="1762">Partner with Project Managers to handle billing cycles, including progress invoices, T&amp;M billings, and final retainage.</p> </li> <li data-start="1763" data-end="1870"> <p data-start="1765" data-end="1870">Manage collection and tracking of lien waivers, including conditional, unconditional, and final releases.</p> </li> <li data-start="1871" data-end="1957"> <p data-start="1873" data-end="1957">Upload job budgets and help format Schedules of Values (SOVs) in financial software.</p> </li> <li data-start="1958" data-end="2041"> <p data-start="1960" data-end="2041">Maintain AR records, confirm payment postings, and investigate past-due balances.</p> </li> <li data-start="2042" data-end="2168"> <p data-start="2044" data-end="2168">Assist with compliance for project-specific documentation, including business licenses, permits, and insurance certificates.</p> </li> <li data-start="2169" data-end="2242"> <p data-start="2171" data-end="2242">Onboard vendors and ensure collection of required compliance paperwork.</p> </li> <li data-start="2243" data-end="2354"> <p data-start="2245" data-end="2354">Process incoming invoices and subcontractor payment applications, ensuring accuracy and routing for approval.</p> </li> <li data-start="2355" data-end="2484"> <p data-start="2357" data-end="2484">Match transactions to purchase orders and apply cost codes appropriately; ensure subcontractor retainage is accurately applied.</p> </li> <li data-start="2485" data-end="2587"> <p data-start="2487" data-end="2587">Coordinate check runs bi-weekly and oversee lien release procedures to control payment disbursement.</p> </li> <li data-start="2588" data-end="2660"> <p data-start="2590" data-end="2660">Record company credit card activity and service-provider transactions.</p> </li> <li data-start="2661" data-end="2740"> <p data-start="2663" data-end="2740">Support annual 1099 preparation and other year-end financial reporting tasks.</p> </li> </ul> <p data-start="2742" data-end="2773"><strong data-start="2742" data-end="2773">What You Bring to the Table</strong></p> <ul data-start="2775" data-end="3254"> <li data-start="2775" data-end="2874"> <p data-start="2777" data-end="2874">3–5 years of general accounting experience, ideally in a construction or contracting environment.</p> </li> <li data-start="2875" data-end="2964"> <p data-start="2877" data-end="2964">Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); solid Excel skills preferred.</p> </li> <li data-start="2965" data-end="3078"> <p data-start="2967" data-end="3078">Previous experience with ERP/accounting systems, familiarity with NetSuite, ComputerEase, or LevelSet is a plus.</p> </li> <li data-start="3079" data-end="3133"> <p data-start="3081" data-end="3133">Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.</p> </li> <li data-start="3134" data-end="3181"> <p data-start="3136" data-end="3181">A collaborative and customer-focused mindset.</p> </li> <li data-start="3182" data-end="3254"> <p data-start="3184" data-end="3254">The ability to juggle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.</p> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Join Us</strong></span><br>Mullins Mechanical ranked #243 on the 2024 ENR Top Specialty Contractors list, #48 in the Nation and #5 in the Southeast among Firms in Mechanical.
