This role is ideal for a detail-oriented insurance professional with 3-5 years of experience who is looking to develop underwriting knowledge and build a long-term career in commercial insurance.   This role is an in-office position in our Red Bank, NJ office.    Key Responsibilities <ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Support retail agents and underwriters by gathering required information and documentation through agency management systems, tasks, reminders, and Outlook.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Order, review, and process inspections, including handling discrepancies and underwriting recommendations.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Process cancellation and reinstatement notices in a timely and accurate manner.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Manage pre-audit correspondence, closed-even audits, and premium-bearing audits.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Report claims and provide claim reporting confirmations to agents and insureds.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Process policy endorsements and related documentation.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Maintain accurate underwriting files and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external business partners.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Assist with renewal preparation and gradually learn renewal quoting and underwriting functions to support professional development.</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">3-5 years of insurance industry experience, within Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C), ideally in binding and programs.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Exposure to underwriting support, policy processing, customer service, or agency operations preferred.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high service standards.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with agency management systems is a plus.</li> </ul> Preferred Attributes <ul style="margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;" type="disc"> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Eagerness to learn underwriting concepts and grow into an underwriting career path.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;">Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to accuracy and responsiveness.</li> </ul> The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
