Medical Assistant - Pediatrics at Lone Star Circle of Care

Our Medical Assistants perform a variety of duties, both clerical and assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a licensed medical and or licensed nursing professional.&nbsp; Our Medical Assistants serve our patients directly, turning our vision into a reality!</p> <p>If you have the ambition and desire to work in a friendly and fun environment, LSCC is the place for you!</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant may look like this:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Obtain and document patient history, patient communication, and clinical treatment accurately and appropriately</li> <li>Obtain and measure vital signs and document information on patients’ charts</li> <li>and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments, and keeping inventory of medical supplies and materials</li> <li>Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests</li> <li>And administer medications as ordered by licensed medical and/or licensed nursing staff</li> <li>Explain treatment procedures to patients under the direction of licensed medical and/or licensed nursing staff</li> </ul> <p><strong>We ask our Medical Assistant to possess a minimum of:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED and</li> <li>Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and</li> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross</li> </ul> <p><strong>The following experience/skills are preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Certification as a Medical Assistant received from a certifying body recognized by Lone Star Circle of Care in its reasonable discretion</li> <li>Prior professional experience as a Medical Assistant</li> <li>Previous work using electronic medical records (EMR)</li> <li>Bilingual English/Spanish skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Success Factors</strong></p> <p>Some key factors that will make an individual successful in this role:</p> <ul> <li>The ability to problem solve</li> <li>Organizational skills</li> <li>Attention to detail</li> <li>Team player personality</li> <li>Time management</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits</strong><br><br>LSCC offers a competitive benefits package, including:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary;</li> <li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance;</li> <li>LSCC paid Life insurance;</li> <li>LSCC paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance;</li> <li>Paid Time Off; and</li> <li>403b Employee Retirement Plan</li> </ul>
