Keep reading.</p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>This role is the pathway to become a General Manager at Blank Street.</p> <p>You will support the Operations Manager/General Manager in running a high-performing Blank Street store day to day — and to build the skills, judgement, and leadership required to become a <strong>future General Manager</strong>. As an AGM, you are the <strong>right hand to your OM/GM.</strong> You own the floor, are passionate about hospitality and uphold the highest standards.</p> <p>You lead from the front on shift, coach the team in real time, and help turn your store into a benchmark of retail excellence — while learning how to run the full store through hands-on exposure to people leadership, operational rhythm, and commercial decision-making.</p> <p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p> <p>You are a hospitality-first operator who holds a high bar for standards and brings positive energy to every shift. You’re confident leading the floor in high-volume moments, and you’re excited to develop into a General Manager, growing your leadership and operational capability through learning by doing, with support and coaching from your OM/GM.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Own</strong></p> <p><strong>Hospitality Standards</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own every drink that leaves your store. Crafted to perfection, every time.</li> <li>Keep your store immaculate, front and back of house.</li> <li>Lead from the front and set the pace of every shift by jumping in where it matters most</li> </ul> <p><strong>People Leader</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coach Baristas and Shift Leads through hands-on, real-time feedback</li> <li>Support training; partner with Field Trainers/your OM/GM to land skill-building.</li> <li>Contribute to hiring by identifying talent, supporting recruitment activities</li> <li>Nurture the next generation of Blank Street leaders, while ensuring those here for the shorter term feel developed and invested in.</li> <li>Help build a positive, engaged team culture through recognition, consistency, and strong communication.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PnL Owner</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design each shift by station with precision, balancing labour productivity with demand.</li> <li>Support labour productivity through strong deployment and rhythm.</li> <li>Build commercial awareness: understand key drivers (labour, waste, sales) and how shift execution impacts results.</li> <li>Support inventory discipline and waste reduction through great daily habits (rotation, standards, counts) under GM/OM guidance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Change Maker</strong></p> <ul> <li>Spot inefficiencies and propose practical fixes; help implement improvements that stick.</li> <li>Land initiatives well on shift: explain the “why”, coach the “how”, and reinforce until it becomes habit.</li> <li>Bring solutions: surface issues, propose small improvements, and help test/roll out changes with GM/OM alignment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience &amp; Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience leading shifts in a high-volume stores</li> <li>Strong standards mindset with comfort giving clear, kind feedback.</li> <li>Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure, and to bring others into “flow state”.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits &amp; Perks</strong></p> <ul> <li>Private health and dental insurance</li> <li>25 days of annual leave (on top of bank holidays), along with an additional paid day a year 'to start something extraordinary' ✨ and pursue a passion</li> <li>A salary sacrifice scheme to spend on Cycle to Work, bike subscriptions, pensions and medical</li> <li>Exclusive access to our coveted Regulars program – yes, that means free coffee, matcha and more! ☕️✨</li> <li>Great culture with regular team events</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
