About the Role

About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

ALSO is looking for an Inventory & COGS Accounting Manager to own the inventory costing, reporting and valuation processes. This role will play a critical part in building scalable inventory accounting operations as we prepare to launch our first products later this year. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the company’s financial foundation and contribute to the Company’s vision to offer sustainable mobility solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Own day-to-day inventory accounting, including inventory costing, valuation and COGS management

  • Reconcile inventory accounts monthly across raw materials, consignment and finished goods.

  • Prepare and record COGS journal entries and related adjustments

  • Identify and allocate inventory (or COGS) related costs such as tariffs, freight, overhead and other miscellaneous period expenses to ensure accurate and timely recognition.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Logistics and Procurement teams to streamline and strengthen inventory processes

  • Design and implement sustainable, scalable inventory tracking processes within a complex, multi-tier supplier environment.

  • Oversee Netsuite system developments and enhancements pertaining to inventory management, including integrations with 3PLs.

  • Calculate and record inventory provisions, including excess and obsolete inventory, returns, lower of cost or market (LCM), and purchase commitment reserves

  • Own month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes in assigned areas ensuring accurate and timely reporting

  • Prepare ad hoc inventory and COGS reporting as needed

  • Build, document, and improve inventory accounting processes, controls, policies and procedures

  • Work with business partners to improve and automate end to end processes (i.e. purchasing, inventory management, etc)

  • Maintain files and all supporting documentation in a logical and organized fashion

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in a corporate accounting role or public accounting. Experience with inventory and/ or cost accounting required.

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 330.

  • Experience using or developing agentic AI and/or automation within accounting processes, or a strong willingness to learn and apply these technologies, strongly preferred.

  • CPA or CPA track highly desired

  • Experience in Oracle NetSuite ideal
