Security Systems Administrator - HBSS (5699) at SMX

This position will provide administration, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity support for enterprise endpoint security systems within a Department of Defense environment.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have a strong systems administration background with experience supporting enterprise security technologies, endpoint management, cybersecurity compliance, and Windows-based environments. Experience with Trellix/McAfee HBSS and ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) is highly desired.</p> <p>This position requires onsite support at NAS Patuxent River based on program and customer requirements.</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Administer, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot HBSS/Trellix infrastructure and managed endpoints.</li> <li>Support Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), endpoint agents, policies, repositories, and associated security modules.</li> <li>Monitor system health, endpoint communication, policy compliance, security events, and overall HBSS operational status.</li> <li>Troubleshoot agent deployment, connectivity, policy enforcement, software conflicts, and endpoint security issues.</li> <li>Support deployment and maintenance of Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) and other HBSS-managed products.</li> <li>Perform software deployments, upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and routine system maintenance.</li> <li>Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, STIG compliance, and other DoD cybersecurity requirements.</li> <li>Review, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents, service requests, and trouble tickets within established service-level requirements.</li> <li>Coordinate with Windows, Unix, Information Assurance, Network, Engineering, and other infrastructure teams to identify and resolve enterprise issues.</li> <li>Assist with testing and implementation of new HBSS policies, configurations, software versions, and security capabilities.</li> <li>Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and operational records.</li> <li>Support cybersecurity audits, inspections, assessments, and compliance activities.</li> <li>Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to system reliability, security, and operational processes.</li> <li>Provide timely status updates and appropriately escalate technical or operational issues.</li> <li>Perform additional systems administration and cybersecurity support duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Required Skills &amp; Experience</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li>Clearance Required: Top Secret</li> <li>Experience supporting enterprise systems administration, cybersecurity, or endpoint security environments.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and enterprise client/server environments.</li> <li>Understanding of endpoint security technologies, cybersecurity principles, and vulnerability management.</li> <li>Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications, endpoints, services, and network connectivity.</li> <li>Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, security controls, STIGs, system hardening, and patch management.</li> <li>Ability to analyze technical issues, determine root cause, and independently work through resolution.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical activities and communicate issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively across multiple technical teams in a large enterprise environment.</li> <li>Current DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification appropriate for the position, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, or ability to obtain the required certification within the established timeframe.</li> </ul> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Desired Skills &amp; Experience</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}">&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with Trellix/McAfee HBSS and ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).</li> <li>Experience administering Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) or related endpoint security products.</li> <li>Experience with HBSS policy creation, deployment, agent management, troubleshooting, and reporting.</li> <li>Experience supporting HBSS within a Department of Defense environment.</li> <li>Experience with ACAS findings, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities.</li> <li>Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, and Windows Server administration.</li> <li>Experience with enterprise patching, software deployment, and configuration management.</li> <li>Knowledge of DISA STIGs and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.</li> <li>Previous experience supporting Navy, NMCI, NAWCAD, or other DoD enterprise IT environments.</li> </ul> <p><span data-contrast="auto">#cjpost #LI-ONSITE</span></p> </div> </div> </div><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>&nbsp;</p> <hr> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;">The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
