Software Engineer 2, Platform Security at Abnormal Security

<h2>About the Role</h2> <p>Abnormal AI is seeking a Software Engineer 2 who is a solid software developer with a strong interest in Security &amp; Privacy to join the Platform Security team. In this role, you will help protect customer data by implementing rigorous Security and Privacy standards along with robust Authentication, Authorization, and Auditability (AAA) customer-facing solutions. You will design, develop, and refine platform solutions that enforce AAA principles, ensuring all Abnormal products are properly secured, appropriately permitted, and comprehensively logged. The ideal candidate will have</p> <ul> <li>Practical Security mindset - ability to identify and address security vulnerabilities across the entire software development and operations lifecycle.</li> <li>Ability to break down Security &amp; Privacy challenges into practical technical solutions, and leading their successful implementation.</li> <li>Skill and passion for leveraging AI-native approaches to enhance team workflows and engineering practices.</li> <li>Opportunity to contribute to cross-team collaboration with product engineering teams to<em> </em>both<em> </em>seamlessly integrate Security &amp; Privacy best practices into microservice architecture and eliminating implementation overhead for development teams</li> <li>Opportunity to grow into Senior Software Engineer on the team, taking on larger projects, driving greater impact, and assuming additional leadership responsibilities.</li> </ul> <h2>What you will do&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>Apply practical Security principles and AI-native workflows to effectively deliver technical solutions.</li> <li>Adopt and refine AI-native workflows to provide direct leverage for the team.</li> <li>Lead and deliver impactful enhancements for the Platform Security team, enforcing Security &amp; Privacy standards to support ongoing product and market expansion.</li> <li>Design and implement customer facing SSO, RBAC, Audit log solutions to enable Security and Privacy by design.</li> <li>Reconcile Platform and Security &amp; Privacy requirements, building a secure platform that empowers global engineering teams to deliver high quality software at high velocity.</li> <li>Actively mentor and support the growth of junior team members</li> </ul> <h2>Must Haves&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related engineering field.</li> <li>2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.</li> <li>Strong Computer Science and programming fundamentals.</li> <li>Experience with system design and cloud infrastructure.</li> <li>Experience with Golang and Python programming languages.</li> <li>Proven track record of leading feature development and delivering high quality software.</li> </ul> <h2>Nice to Have&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Authentication &amp; Authorization and Platform Security &amp; Privacy problem space, best practices, and related technologies.</li> <li>Understanding of distributed computing, CAP theorem, and system design tradeoffs.</li> <li>Ability to differentiate must-have versus nice-to-have Security and Privacy requirements.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>#LI-NT1</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Actual compensation will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.<br>In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.</p></div><div class="title">Base salary range:</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$149,200</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$214,500 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><br>Abnormal AI is an equal opportunity employer.
