Program Manager, Mapping Operations at Waymo

The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.</p></div><p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop deep subject matter expertise on the Imagery component of mapping operations, and serve as a go-to point of contact for our vendor teams</li> <li>Test and roll out new mapping&nbsp; tools, features, and workflows in coordination with our Engineering partners</li> <li>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and own those solutions end-to-end</li> <li>Create and maintain clear technical documentation</li> </ul> <p><strong>You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.</li> <li>2+ years managing technical data pipelines or operations, directly responsible for task flow, throughput, and error triage.</li> <li>Track record of technical self-sufficiency: Proven experience ramping up on proprietary tools/pipelines and independently diagnosing data anomalies to root causes.</li> <li>Policy &amp; SOP authoring: Demonstrated experience translating raw engineering specs into clear, unambiguous operational workflows for large teams.</li> <li>Cross-functional bridge: Experience coordinating directly with Software Engineers to resolve blockers while keeping operations unblocked.</li> </ul> <p><strong>We prefer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>MBA / PGDM with a specialization in Operations, Supply Chain, or Systems.</li> <li>Domain exposure: Direct experience with geospatial data, HD maps, GIS, LiDAR/camera sensor data, or AV/robotics pipelines.</li> <li>Vendor operations: Experience training, auditing, and enforcing strict quality/SLA metrics (e.g., 98%+ quality bars, Meta-QC) across 20+ member vendor pods.</li> <li>Hands-on data querying: Proficiency in SQL or Python for extracting pipeline logs, auditing defect rates, and building operational dashboards.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Travel requirements</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel to the US as needed (at least once every 2 years)</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The expected base salary range for this full-time position is listed below.
