<hr></div><p>The Senior Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Drafter leads the creation of models and drawing sets, sets and implements deliverable standards for quality and efficiency, and helps drive team success. We’re seeking motivated individuals eager to grow and collaborate within a supportive, high-performing team culture.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Produce deliverable sets independently and efficiently following established standards and best practices.</li>
<li>Initiate deliverable creation by analyzing provided information and determining the next steps.</li>
<li>Identify information gaps, gather missing details, and evaluate the quality of information to produce accurate and complete drawing sets.</li>
<li>Incorporate customer preferences and constructability considerations based on past projects.</li>
<li>Mentor other technicians based on skill level and delegating responsibilities.</li>
<li>Resolve technical issues by leveraging experience and available resources.</li>
<li>Collaborate with project teams, field personnel, and vendors to clarify missing or conflicting data.</li>
<li>Work with project leaders to address and resolve significant design challenges.</li>
<li>Identify potential areas for standardization and collaborate with the team to update or create new standards.</li>
<li>Provide manufacturing and construction support to ensure seamless project execution.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Secondary Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Cross train into additional discipline or lane deliverables.</li>
<li>Mentor intern by setting clear goals, assigning tasks, and providing feedback to support their growth</li>
<li>Analyzes industry and code changes to update current standards for compliance.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications: </strong>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. <p><strong>Education and/or Experience:</strong> A high school diploma or an associate degree (A.A., A.S.) in a relevant field such as Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a two-year community college or technical college is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have 2 or more years of experience in virtual design and construction, technical modeling, or a similar role, preferably within the electrical industry. Equivalent combinations of education and extensive VDC experience will also be considered. Ideal candidates will have advanced skills in virtual modeling software, a strong understanding of construction documentation, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support complex design processes. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards and advanced project coordination is preferred</p>
<p><strong>Travel Requirements: </strong>Travel will be as needed and will not exceed 15%</p>
<p><strong>Compensation: </strong>The pay range for this position is $60,000- $75,000 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience. </p>
