<p><strong>Staff Accountant II (Hands-On General Ledger &amp; QuickBooks)</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Phoenix, AZ<br><strong>Reports to:</strong> Controller</p> <p><strong>About Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC)</strong></p> <p>Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) is the largest provider of onsite dental, vision, podiatry, and audiology services to senior facilities across 24 states. As a family-founded healthcare organization, we’re deeply committed to delivering preventative care with dignity and respect to elderly populations who need it most.</p> <p>As we continue to scale, we’re strengthening our accounting foundation to support accurate reporting, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.</p> <p><strong>What’s Required to Be Successful in This Role</strong></p> <p>To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable owning day-to-day accounting work with minimal ramp time.</p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>3–7 years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience</strong></li> <li><strong>Daily, working experience in QuickBooks</strong> (not just exposure)</li> <li>Direct responsibility for:</li> <ul> <li>Journal entries (recurring and non-recurring)</li> <li>Bank and credit card reconciliations</li> <li>Fixed assets (additions, disposals, depreciation)</li> <li>Month-end close support</li> </ul> <li>Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reconciliations, schedules, analysis)</li> <li>Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities</li> <li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization</li> <li>Public accounting experience a plus</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting accounting functions in a growing or multi-entity organization</li> <li>Exposure to healthcare, services, or multi-location businesses</li> <li>Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems (in addition to QuickBooks)</li> <li>Prior involvement with audits or internal control documentation</li> <li>Comfort identifying process improvements and efficiency opportunities</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger</li> <li>Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations (including Bill.com)</li> <li>Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries</li> <li>Process customer invoicing and assist with accounts receivable follow-up</li> <li>Support payroll journal entries and related reconciliations</li> <li>Assist with month-end close activities and supporting schedules</li> <li>Partner closely with the Controller to take transactional accounting work off their plate</li> <li>Assist with audit documentation and internal control compliance</li> <li>Help identify and implement improvements to accounting processes as the company scales</li> </ul> <p><strong>How to Know This Role Is a Good Fit</strong></p> <p><strong>You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prefer hands-on accounting responsibilities and day-to-day ownership</li> <li>Like having clear accountability for your work</li> <li>Are comfortable working directly in QuickBooks and supporting month-end close</li> <li>Enjoy partnering closely with leadership in a growing, mission-driven organization</li> <li>Value stability, impact, and doing the work well</li> </ul> <p><strong>This role may not align well if you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Seeking a strategic finance or Controller-track position in the near term</li> <li>Primarily focused on FP&amp;A or advisory accounting rather than execution</li> <li>Interested in minimal involvement in day-to-day accounting tasks</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Uncomfortable working in a transactional, detail-oriented accounting role</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join CMC</strong></p> <ul> <li>Mission-driven healthcare organization serving vulnerable senior populations</li> <li>Stable, growing company with long-term opportunity</li> <li>Direct partnership with leadership and meaningful ownership of work</li> <li>Collaborative, down-to-earth team culture</li> </ul> <p>Join a team that’s making a difference every day — one patient, one visit, one smile at a time.</p>
