About Us  Pathfinder Career Academy of Ohio is an online public school for students in grades 6–12 that focuses on career exploration and college preparation. Our unique framework allows students to discover their interests through engaging activities before choosing a specialized high school major aligned with state standards. The Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the ACCEL online school – responsible for the development, implementation and achievement of the school’s academic vision, student advancement and daily operations. The Principal will ensure successful academic outcomes for all students while employing long-term instructional sustainability measures involving professional development, teacher quality assessment, curriculum and pedagogical advancement. Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.  Eligibility: Open to residents of Ohio   About the Opportunity  <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Facilitate the implementation of a standards-based curriculum</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Complete ongoing review of weekly lesson plans</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">implement frequent walk-throughs/teacher debriefs</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Assume responsibility for student outcomes as related to academics and social- emotional wellbeing</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Serve as the instructional leader in the building by facilitating a growth-focused professional environment</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develop and/or modify the school’s cultural programming and school - wide PBIS process with an emphasis on personal and academic growth</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Lead Data Driven Instructional efforts, teaching and supporting staff in using data to monitor program effectiveness and adjust instructional programming</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Plan all phases of summer educational opportunities and before and after/supplemental programs as applicable</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Ensure effective implementation of instructional program across grade bands</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Monitor teacher performance metrics (pass rates, teaching time, student contacts, etc...) and ensure teacher accountability for meeting set expectations</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Work with the operations team to coordinate audits, and ensure compliance to state and sponsor/authorizer regulations</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Work with the IT team to coordinate school technology efforts and make recommendations for improvement</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Work with the Student Services to ensure support staff understand instructional model and teachers understand and appropriately utilize available student supports</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Assist with updating parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Effectively communicate the school’s mission and vision and solicit input from parents and families about school performance, areas for improvement, and their needs</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Engage and build strong professional relationships with parents, characterized by timely and regular communications, involving parents, wherever possible in the life of the school</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Contribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Understand, accept, abide by, and implement the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> About You  <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Master's degree in Education or related discipline is required; an advanced degree in education/educational leadership strongly preferred</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Current valid Principal license</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Three or more years of experience working in an online school in an instructional leadership role</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Two or more years of experience in successful school administration/instructional leadership in an online school setting</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Experience in coaching teachers to improve their instructional planning, instructional practice, and classroom culture</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Ability to meet educational standards as applicable</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;
