<p>Sem-Sol, a GRVTY company is seeking a Senior Scientist who brings an energizing combination of experience and character to the table. The scientist we are looking for knows more than just the subject matter - they know how to get the job done. We always have several Department of Defense projects running, and their successful completion requires your skill and your professionalism. We need a self-motivated individual who also has the strong organizational and communication skills to effectively work as part of a team. As part of the Sem-Sol team, you will be an innovator at the leading edge where R & D and real-world applications meet.</p>
<p><strong>What You'll be Owning</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborating with other scientists, engineers, technicians, and program managers to develop the next generation of High-Power Microwave (HPM) devices and systems.</li>
<li>Designing, simulating, and testing:
<ul>
<li>Vacuum electronics based HPM sources.</li>
<li>HPM antennas</li>
<li>Waveguide components such as directional couplers, mode converters, and filters.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Performing laboratory measurements and calibrations of microwave components and equipment.</li>
<li>Presenting work at design reviews and conferences.</li>
<li>Writing reports to describe simulation results.</li>
<li>Comparing simulation results to experimental results.</li>
<li>Writing technical proposals.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What You Must Have</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Active Security Clearance is required or ability to obtain a security clearance.</li>
<li>B.S. in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or related field.</li>
<li>10+ years of experience working in a microwave engineering-related discipline.</li>
<li>Experience performing microwave device simulations in CST, ICEPIC, HFSS or similar software.</li>
<li>Experience working in a research, development, or prototyping environment.</li>
<li>Experience in writing proposals for competitive solicitations.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What Would be Nice to Have</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>20+ years of experience of working on HPM projects for either the government or industry.</li>
<li>Familiarity with performing measurements of microwave components and antennas using equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Noise Figure Analyzers, Power Meters, and Near Field Arrays.</li>
<li>M.S. or Ph.D in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or related field.</li>
</ul>
