Interns work alongside experienced professionals across both field and office settings, gaining meaningful, hands-on exposure to real projects. The program provides valuable insight and practical experience to help prepare students for a successful transition into full-time employment. Project Focus During your internship, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on one of the following key project areas: <ul> <li style="line-height: 1.5;">Corporate Interiors</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Core & Shell (Upgrades/Ground Up)</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Education</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Entertainment & Exhibitions</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Hospitality</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Retail</li> </ul> Roles & Responsibilities Your internship will be focused on rotating through the following areas: <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Field Operations: Oversees day-to-day construction activities on site, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards. Focuses on keeping everyone on-site safe, following regulations, and implementing safety programs. <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Observe and support trade coordination and construction sequencing.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Attend project meetings, coordination meetings, and inspections as required.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Assist in maintaining daily logs, site reports, photos, and progress documentation.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Assist with RFIs, submittals, and document control.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Assist with inspections, punch lists, and quality documentation.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Estimating: Calculates cost for materials, labor, and time to help plan and bid for projects. Sees how much an entire project costs during the pre-construction stage and starts the bidding project & works with the client on what we offer. <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing analyses, and cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Maintain subcontractor lists, supplier information, and estimating databases.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support bid preparation, tender documentation, and value engineering reviews.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Maintain accurate estimating records, project files, and cost databases.</li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Project Management: Coordinates all aspects of a project from start to finish – budget, schedule, team, and client communication. Ensures the project is completed efficiently and meets client expectations. <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Support Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents on active projects.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Assist with project documentation, submittals, and information distribution.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Attend project meetings and document key discussions and action items.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Help track material deliveries and maintain project records.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Perform additional project-related tasks as assigned by the team.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> This internship is fully on-site based at a JRM office or project location five days per week.
