About the Soul Department

ImagineArt shipped a platform that's years ahead of what most AI tools can do. The storytelling hasn't caught up.

The Soul Department is being built to close that gap. A small serious team that owns the company's point of view, posture, and taste, and briefs the rest of the house to make it real. A taste engine, not a content team.

We are hiring seven writers, thinkers, and screenwriters across seven distinct roles. You apply to one. You'll be evaluated on a 550 to 600 word writing prompt specific to that role. No AI in the application. No resume yet. Just your words.

The Seven Roles

01. Editor-in-Chief — The Final Cut Keeper of the worldview. Owns the voice document, edits every writer on the team without erasing them, says the final yes or no on whether a piece of work sounds like us. Make the house style unmistakable.

02. Long-Form Writer — The Rambler Essays, keynote scripts, deep-dive videos. The one piece a year that defines the year. You think in arcs and pay off in conclusions. Write the thing people screenshot a year later.

03. Short-Form Writer — The Dopamine Hit Captions, hooks, headlines, taglines, the one line that makes a Reel work. You think in rhythm, inversion, and punchlines. Fewer words. More weight. Funnier.

04. Cultural Researcher — The Antenna The antenna. You live on X, Reddit, Discord, Substack, and four places nobody else on the team has found yet. Tell us what's coming, not what just happened.

05. Attention Engineer / Behavioral Psychologist — The Diagnostician Not a consultant, a teammate. Explains why things spread, stick, or die, and has the receipts to prove it from real work. Know why it worked.

06. Social Commentator — The Critic Anthropology, sociology, or history background. Takes a SaaS product, a trend, a film, a subculture, and breaks down why it worked, who it served, and what it said about the moment it arrived in. Explain the present. Then tell us what it means.

07. Screenwriter — The Storyteller Short films, five to fifteen minutes. The kind of piece that travels, to a festival, to a feed, to someone's group chat the morning after. Drama lives in what you cut. Dialogue is the last resort, not the first.

Who Is Our Perfect Candidate

• Has a real point of view and writes under their own name

• Has shipped work somewhere public, not just in marketing decks

• Reads outside their field on purpose

• Treats culture, taste, and craft as load-bearing, not decorative

• Has been publicly disagreed with for an opinion at least once

• Fluent in English with strong communication skills

• Self-driven, disciplined, deeply motivated by craft
