As a Lifestyle Associate, you will play an important role in all phases of planning of activities that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others!  What you'll do: <ul> <li>Regularly survey and interview residents and work with resident led committee to determine the residents’ past and present interests, talents, and their satisfaction with community programs and activities.</li> <li>Develop and implement activities for the residents in accordance with their needs. Recognize the individuality, diversity and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.</li> <li>Provide quality activities to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.</li> <li>Provide individualized attention to each resident to encourage each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing.</li> <li>Assist in developing and coordinating activities and programs for residents including games, reading, listening, and organizing community involvement.</li> <li>Attend to the individual needs of residents which includes providing assistance with communications application, technology based requests activities and identifying residents’ reactions to the various activities.</li> <li>Use initiative and judgment to adapt programs to meet the needs of individual residents as well as the changing conditions of each resident.</li> <li>Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.</li> <li>Develop and maintain communications of planned activities/programs. Communicate opportunities and success stories to residents and employees through newsletters, meetings, etc.</li> <li>Coordinate the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the residence.</li> </ul>  What you’ll bring: <ul> <li>Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a High School Diploma (or G.E.D.). Prior related experience in wellness, fitness or recreational therapy in senior living preferred. Sales and marketing experience preferred.</li> <li>Requires proficient working knowledge of the aging process as it relates to senior adults in an independent living setting.</li> <li>Requires knowledge of residents’ rights and ability to ensure an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.</li> <li>Requires ability to organize activities and work with other departments and/or units to implement the activities.</li> <li>Requires ability to encourage teamwork with residents and/or staff members.</li> <li>Requires ability to effectively communicate with residents, staff members, family members, visitors and the public utilizing excellent customer service skills.</li> <li>Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.</li> <li>Requires ability to work independently with moderate supervision; ability to adapt to changing conditions and frequent demands; ability to acquire new knowledge.</li> <li>Requires ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings.</li> <li>Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.</li> </ul>  The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.  <div>About Buckner Retirement Services: </div> <div>Buckner Retirement Services comprises a network of senior living communities across Texas.
