We prioritize civic engagement, global citizenship/student travel, arts, and athletics, in addition to excellent academics.</p> <p>A core element of our approach is the DP Empowered program, which serves over 2,000 students across all 5 high schools. This comprehensive 4-year initiative combines whole-class instruction with personalized 1:1 advising to help students in grades 9-12 develop customized postsecondary pathways and achieve academic success.</p> <p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p> <p>The Associate Director of the DP Empowered Program oversees whole group instruction across all five high schools, working directly with faculty members who facilitate these sessions. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for both ensuring strong execution of classroom programming and overseeing curriculum development. You will have the authority to adjust, enhance, and revise content as needed to ensure it serves student needs and remains mission aligned. You will help shape learning experiences that support students to explore identity, develop life skills, and navigate college/career pathways, while building systems that empower educators to create environments for students to set goals, build academic habits, and think critically about their future.</p> <p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p> <ul> <li>An educator with an unwavering commitment to the Democracy Prep mission of college success and authentic civic engagement for our scholars.</li> <li>An innovator who is comfortable with the iterative process of program design.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>A clear communicator and enthusiastic networker with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and families, and connect students to unique programs that support post-secondary readiness.</li> <li>A strong interest and skill in teaching, project based learning, and discussion-based activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>A coach that helps teachers facilitate classroom instruction focused on:</li> <ul> <li>Student choice in designing meaningful projects</li> <li>Research experiences emphasizing information literacy (accessing, organizing, analyzing)</li> <li>Iterative reflection that fuels continuous growth and improvement</li> <li>Authentic problem-solving connected to real challenges</li> <li>Differentiated instruction through diverse teaching modalities</li> </ul> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <p><strong>Instructional Oversight &amp; Curriculum</strong></p> <ul> <li>Supervise and mentor DP Empowered Faculty across schools</li> <li>Review and refine all instructional materials and curriculum frameworks</li> <li>Provide ongoing professional development for DP Empowered Faculty</li> <li>Ensure consistent pedagogical approach and academic standards across all schools</li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboration with Director of Experiential Learning</strong></p> <ul> <li>Co-develop experiential learning opportunities that complement the DP Empowered mission</li> <li>Build interdisciplinary programming that connects identity exploration with real-world applications</li> <li>Create seamless transitions between advisory work and experiential learning opportunities</li> <li>Collaborate on creating learning experiences that bridge self-discovery with practical skills development</li> </ul> <p><strong>Operations, Evaluation &amp; Systems Building</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build systems for scaling high-quality instruction across our school network</li> <li>Manage program budget, staffing, timelines, and technology systems</li> <li>Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration (advisors, counselors, teachers)</li> <li>Monitor program effectiveness and drive data-informed decision making</li> <li>Implement systems to track student data and program effectiveness</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years leading educational programs at scale</li> <li>Proven experience building sustainable curriculum frameworks and strategic initiatives</li> <li>Strong background in both instructional leadership and student services</li> <li>Exceptional people-management and cross-departmental coordination skills</li> <li>Deep understanding of college access, identity development, and experiential learning</li> <li>A graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program (required), and a MSW or MSEd in School Counseling (preferred)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation</strong></p> <p>Salary range is $115,000 - $135,000 commensurate with your experience.
