<h1>Senior React Native Engineer, AI Products & Mobile Platform Reports to: Director of Engineering Location: Austin, TX  About the Role</h1> inKind is seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to join one of our cross-functional product pods focused on building intelligent, AI-powered consumer and restaurant experiences. This is not a traditional mobile engineering role. We are looking for a highly adaptable product engineer who thrives in a fast-moving environment, leverages AI tooling daily, and enjoys owning meaningful product outcomes from concept to production. You will operate inside a small, autonomous pod structure alongside product managers, designers, backend engineers, data/AI engineers, and QA partners. Each pod is responsible for rapidly shipping and iterating on customer-facing features, internal operational tools, and AI-enabled experiences that power the future of the restaurant ecosystem. You’ll play a key role in scaling our React Native platform while helping integrate modern AI workflows, LLM-powered product experiences, and AI-assisted engineering practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities <h2>Mobile Product Development</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Design, develop, and maintain high-quality React Native applications for iOS and Android</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Build performant, scalable, and maintainable mobile experiences</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborate closely with your pod to rapidly prototype and ship new features</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Partner with product and design teams to translate business goals into elegant technical solutions</li> </ul> <h2>AI-Enabled Product Experiences</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Build mobile interfaces and workflows that integrate AI-powered capabilities and LLM-driven experiences</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborate with backend and AI engineering teams to support recommendation systems, conversational experiences, personalization, and intelligent automation</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Integrate with modern AI infrastructure and APIs where appropriate</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Help define best practices for AI-native mobile product experiences</li> </ul> <h2>AI-Assisted Engineering Practices</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Leverage AI coding agents and modern developer tooling to accelerate engineering velocity</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Evaluate and improve workflows using AI-assisted development practices</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Maintain strong engineering judgment while validating AI-generated code and architectural suggestions</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Contribute to engineering efficiency through automation and tooling improvements</li> </ul> <h2>Architecture & Performance</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Optimize rendering, state management, app startup time, memory usage, and overall mobile performance</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Work across React Native and native platform integrations when necessary</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Improve application observability, reliability, and scalability</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Help shape frontend architecture and technical direction across pods</li> </ul> <h2>Quality & Collaboration</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Write clean, testable, well-documented Typescript code</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering planning</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Build and maintain automated tests and CI/CD workflows</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Share knowledge and mentor other engineers across the organization</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Contribute to a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, speed, and continuous improvement</li> </ul> <h1>Minimum Qualifications</h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">5+ years of professional experience building React Native applications</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong expertise with Typescript and modern React architecture</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience working in fast-paced startup or product-led engineering environments</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong understanding of mobile application performance optimization</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong understanding of complex state management patterns (Redux, Zustand, React Query, Context, etc.)</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience working with agents, LLM tooling, or AI-assisted development workflows</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to move quickly through large codebases and ambiguous technical challenges</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong debugging and systems-thinking capabilities</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Product-minded engineering approach with strong ownership mentality</li> </ul> <h1>Preferred Qualifications</h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience building AI-powered product features or integrating LLM APIs</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Familiarity with vector search, recommendation systems, RAG architectures, or conversational interfaces</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience with React.js web applications</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience with native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, Java, Objective-C, C++)</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience designing scalable frontend/mobile architecture</li> </ul> <h1>Benefits & Perks at inKind</h1> At inKind, we believe supporting our employees goes beyond compensation.
