YBA supports Kubernetes and VM-based deployments across enterprise-grade, secure, and highly customizable environments. The SDET team plays a critical role in ensuring robustness, scalability, security, and performance of the YBA platform, focusing on deployment flexibility and enterprise-grade integrations. <h2 data-start="1988" data-end="2008">Role Overview</h2> As an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) for the YBA team, you will be responsible for building, automating, and maintaining tests to validate the YBA platform in real-world, hybrid infrastructure environments. You will: <ul data-start="2254" data-end="2454"> <li data-start="2254" data-end="2302"> Design and implement comprehensive test plans. </li> <li data-start="2303" data-end="2368"> Develop automation frameworks for API, UI, and backend testing. </li> <li data-start="2369" data-end="2454"> Simulate production-like conditions to ensure platform reliability and scalability. </li> </ul> This role demands hands-on experience with distributed systems testing, strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a keen focus on enterprise-grade quality standards. <h2 data-start="2640" data-end="2667">Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul data-start="2669" data-end="3636"> <li data-start="2669" data-end="2858"> Design, implement, and execute test plans and test cases for YBA, covering: <ul data-start="2753" data-end="2858"> <li data-start="2753" data-end="2785"> Cluster lifecycle management </li> <li data-start="2788" data-end="2815"> Security and networking </li> <li data-start="2818" data-end="2858"> Platform and enterprise integrations </li> </ul> </li> <li data-start="2860" data-end="2933"> Develop and maintain automation frameworks (API, UI, system-level). </li> <li data-start="3088" data-end="3177"> Conduct performance and scalability testing on VM-based and Kubernetes deployments. </li> <li data-start="3179" data-end="3277"> Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to ensure high-quality releases. </li> <li data-start="3279" data-end="3384"> Debug complex environments, reproduce customer-reported issues, and ensure comprehensive test coverage. </li> <li data-start="3386" data-end="3459"> Continuously improve testing tools, frameworks, and infrastructure. </li> <li data-start="3461" data-end="3520"> Own quality gates within Agile development workflows. </li> <li data-start="3522" data-end="3636"> Ensure all releases meet enterprise-grade reliability standards across a wide matrix of supported platforms. </li> </ul> <h2 data-start="3643" data-end="3662">Requirements</h2> <ul data-start="3664" data-end="4657"> <li data-start="3664" data-end="3788"> 8 to 15 years of experience in automation testing, preferably in database, infrastructure, or enterprise software. </li> <li data-start="3790" data-end="3845"> Strong programming skills in Python or Java. </li> <li data-start="3847" data-end="3938"> Experience with test automation frameworks and validation of distributed systems. </li> <li data-start="3940" data-end="4042"> Hands-on testing experience in hybrid infrastructure environments (VMs, Kubernetes, air-gapped). </li> <li data-start="4044" data-end="4170"> Familiarity with: <ul data-start="4066" data-end="4170"> <li data-start="4066" data-end="4083"> REST APIs </li> <li data-start="4086" data-end="4134"> PostgreSQL or other relational databases </li> <li data-start="4137" data-end="4170"> Cloud-native technologies </li> </ul> </li> <li data-start="4281" data-end="4359"> Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized deployments. </li> <li data-start="4361" data-end="4428"> Exposure to performance benchmarking tools and methodologies. </li> <li data-start="4430" data-end="4504"> Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex environments. </li> <li data-start="4506" data-end="4584"> Excellent communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams. </li> <li data-start="4586" data-end="4657"> Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field. </li> </ul> <h2 data-start="4664" data-end="4683">Nice to Have</h2> <ul data-start="4685" data-end="5096"> <li data-start="4685" data-end="4751"> Experience validating enterprise security (LDAP, TLS, RBAC). </li> <li data-start="4753" data-end="4845"> Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) and test integration. </li> <li data-start="4847" data-end="4935"> Understanding of deployment tools and hybrid cloud/on-prem operational models. </li> <li data-start="4937" data-end="5002"> Experience with Agile and continuous testing practices. </li> <li data-start="5004" data-end="5096"> Prior exposure to enterprise support or debugging in production-like environments. </li> </ul> <h2 data-start="5318" data-end="5363">Equal Employment Opportunity Statement</h2> Yugabyte is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
