The candidate will play a critical role in deploying, managing and supporting our global virtual and physical server infrastructure, as well as assisting with the configuration and troubleshooting of our network infrastructure. This role requires a self-motivated &amp; proactive individual with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills.&nbsp; This position is based in Amsterdam at our Schiphol-Rijk data center, but can be flexible to one day per week remote.&nbsp; This position could also require as much as 10-20% travel regionally within EMEA to support critical issues.</p> <p><strong><u>Primary Responsibilities</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server environments (VMware ESXi, vSAN, and SAN).</li> <li>Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance to ensure reliability and high availability.</li> <li>Administer enterprise storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and vSAN environments.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues across compute, storage, and networking systems.</li> <li>Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching of systems to ensure security and stability.</li> <li>Manage and configure Cisco network switches in support of server and storage connectivity.</li> <li>Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines and guest operating systems including Windows Server, Ubuntu, CentOS, and Red Hat Linux.</li> <li>Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement network solutions.</li> <li>Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff as it related to our enterprise networks.</li> <li>Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.</li> <li>Provide day-to-day operational support of back-end infrastructure (physical, virtual compute and network)</li> <li>Assist in updating network design documentation and schematic diagrams</li> <li>Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring uptime of critical servers, networks, and applications.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities: </u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to infrastructure management.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team setting.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities/tickets.</li> <li>Ability and willingness to create (project) documentation with diagrams to be used for cross-training purposes.</li> <li>Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to understand the long-term “big picture”.</li> <li>Good technical writing skills and strong attention to details</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Requirements:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a technical related field.</li> <li>4+ years of professional experience in systems engineering and/or administration</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter).</li> <li>Foundation in SAN, NAS, and vSAN technologies.</li> <li>Familiarity with scripting (Powershell, bash, etc.)</li> <li>1+ years professional experience with Cisco switch configuration and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Proficiency in administering Windows and/or Linux server environments.</li> <li>Candidates who have worked inside a hyperscale data center are highly encouraged to apply</li> <li>Candidates who possess VMware certifications (VCP or higher) are also highly encouraged to apply</li> <li>Candidates with experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions are also highly encouraged to apply</li> <li>Candidates who have Azure experience would really make a candidate stand out.</li> </ul> <p><span data-teams="true">Verification of employment with previous employers may be part of the recruitment process to ascertain that the candidate’s work history and qualifications are accurate and align with the requirements of the role.&nbsp;</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">EdgeConneX believes inclusion – of thought, backgrounds and experiences – affects all that we do, from our employees to the solutions we deliver.
