About the Role

<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Vice President, Mining, the Senior Mine Engineer is responsible for mine planning, design, and optimization activities to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations. This role plays a key part in driving the strategic direction of the mining operations, and ensuring alignment between operational execution and strategic mine objectives.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and support the execution of mine designs and plans for the restart of mining operations</li> <li>Design and optimize open pit and/or underground mine layouts, including haul roads, ramps, stopes, and sequencing</li> <li>Ensure all mine plans comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines</li> <li>Collaborate closely with exploration, operations/mining contractors, permitting, and other site teams to align plans and ensure successful execution</li> <li>Support and manage engineering consultants on studies as required</li> <li>Monitor mine performance and reconcile actual results against plan; identify variances and implement improvements</li> <li>Conduct economic evaluations, cost analysis, and productivity assessments</li> <li>Mentor and supervise junior mine engineers and technical staff</li> <li>Support budgeting, forecasting, and life-of-mine planning activities and capital projects</li> <li>Implement and maintain mine planning software and systems</li> <li>Develop mine planning processes and procedures</li> <li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in<strong> </strong>Mining Engineering or related discipline (Master’s degree is an asset)</li> <li>Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain in Nevada preferred</li> <li>Minimum 10 years of mining experience, with strong exposure to planning and operations</li> <li>Experience in open pit and underground operations</li> <li>Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik)</li> <li>Strong understanding of drill &amp; blast, geotechnical considerations, and mine economics</li> <li>Knowledge of U.S. mining regulations (MSHA standards)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li> <li>Leadership and mentoring skills</li> <li>Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote site environment</li> <li>High attention to detail with a focus on safety and efficiency</li> <li>Strategic thinking with hands-on operational awareness</li> </ul> <p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Site-based role at a mining operation in Nevada</li> <li>Exposure to typical mining environments (dust, noise, varying weather conditions)</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary</li> <li>Comprehensive benefits package</li> <li>401(k)</li> <li>Career development and advancement opportunities</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Pay Range &amp; Compensation Package</strong></p> <p>Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.</p> <p><strong>Equal Opportunity Statement</strong></p> <p>We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.</p> <p></p>
