<p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As a <strong>Senio</strong>r<strong> Plumbing/</strong><strong>Fire Protection Engineer</strong>, you will perform design engineering and provide system design support by working closely with all MEP disciplines to assure well-coordinated designs. This dynamic role will also involve consulting and interfacing with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Additional responsibilities:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and system commissioning</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Attend coordination meetings and job sites</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform calculations under Supervising Engineer/Designer</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Produce clear and concise drawings consistent with client requirements and firm organization format and drawing standards</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Apply Codes and Standards to all designs (including working drawings and specifications)</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conducting peer reviews and provide QA/QC oversight</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform code interpretation</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist in business development by expanding on current client relationships, cross selling Syska services and by attending industry and client's events</span></li>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: rgb(64, 64, 64); font-size: 12pt;">This is a great opportunity for a <strong>Senior</strong> <strong>Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer</strong> with a large variety of facility types including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Governmental buildings experience, as well as experience in critical facilities, storage facilities design. In addition to your engineering experience, to succeed in this role, you will need a solid knowledge of Plumbing systems design for various projects with the ability to communicate design concepts via drawings and specifications. Experience in Fire Alarm, Standpipe/Sprinkler, VESDA, and Clean Agent system design is desired; along with experience in the development of Fire Safety Plans; Fire, Smoke & Egress Modeling.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Engineer requirements:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering discipline.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of 8-10 years field experience with previous experience in Fire Protection and Fire Alarm System design.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">3 years of supervisory experience</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of ICC, NFPA and Local codes and standards. Knowledge of NYC codes required</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">NICET certification in Fire Alarm or Fire Protection systems, preferred, or ability to obtained within 2 years of hire.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Multistate licensure is preferred, or ability to obtain within 2-4 years of hire</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The ability to achieve security clearance from Federal Government (project specific)</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively in a fast –paced, challenging environment</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Open to travel to various project locales and meet project deadlines.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience in using AutoCAD-MEP, and REVIT to develop designs required - strong technical role</span></li>
<li style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Possesses strong interpersonal relationship skills and strong communications skills both verbal, written and presentation</span></li>
