This role reports directly to the EHS, Associate Director. You will be a strong fit for this role if you have 1-2 years’ relevant experience in the EHS field. We are looking for a self-directed, organized individual who enjoys working with scientists to understand their cutting-edge science and support their safety and compliance needs.   If you don't meet all the requirements or qualifications but bring some other unique skills and experience that would be valuable in this role, please apply and highlight those attributes for us in your cover letter.    What will I do?    Responsibilities  Your day-to-day is focused on ensuring that the laboratories are operating safely and residents have proper resources to sustain a safe working environment. Every day is different, so flexibility and responsiveness are key while delivering value on projects and other commitments.  <ul> <li>Be a champion of safety and proactively look for chances to encourage staff and residents to do the same </li> <li>Provide direction to residents and staff to ensure a safe and compliant workplace </li> <li>Support the EHS team in hazard assessments and project registration reviews with a focus on biological safety  </li> <li>Participate in, help prepare for, and coordinate LabCentral’s Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) meetings  </li> <li>Aid in managing hazardous waste program </li> <li>Assist with the implementation and further development of EHS programs </li> <li>Act as liaison with EHS contractors and LabCentral staff and residents </li> <li>Coordinate EHS activities and communications for staff and resident companies </li> <li>Support the EHS Associate Director in hazard assessments and project registration reviews </li> <li>Serve as an emergency coordinator  </li> <li>Conduct and participate in organization of emergency and evacuation planning and response </li> <li>Enhance EHS training offerings for staff and residents </li> <li>Track and schedule required trainings for staff </li> <li>Participate in incident investigations and help to ensure root cause and corrective and preventive measures are identified and implemented </li> <li>Maintain permits and registrations in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements </li> <li>Other responsibilities as needed and appropriate to support
