This dynamic role will also involve consulting and interfacing with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. &nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Additional responsibilities:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and system commissioning</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Attend coordination meetings and job sites</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform calculations under Senior Engineer/Designer</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Produce clear and concise drawings consistent with client requirements and firm organization format and drawing standards</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Apply Codes and Standards to all designs (including working drawings and specifications)</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Conducting peer reviews and provide QA/QC oversight</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform code interpretation</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assist in business development by expanding on current client relationships, cross selling Syska services and by attending industry and clients events</span></li> </ul> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: rgb(64, 64, 64); font-size: 12pt;">This is a great opportunity for a <strong>Senior Plumbing Engineer</strong> with a large variety of facility types including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Governmental buildings experience, as well as experience in critical facilities, storage facilities design. In addition to your engineering experience, to succeed in this role, you will need a solid knowledge of fire protection systems design for various projects with the ability to communicate design concepts via drawings and specifications.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Engineer requirements:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; exceptional candidates may substitute with significant years of experience&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience in the Plumbing Design field</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with the&nbsp;latest&nbsp;version of REVIT is a must</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A working knowledge of the various applications of fire suppression systems gained through both formal training (NFPA 99) and project experience</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Solid knowledge of Mechanical / Plumbing trades, building codes, and&nbsp;drawings/documents</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detailed knowledge of equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make proper selections independently.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to independently perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations to support design and estimate construction costs and evaluate the feasibility&nbsp;of construction</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) Certification,&nbsp;<em>highly preferred</em></span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Benefits:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As a Senior Plumbing/Fire Protection with Syska Hennessy Group, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
