<h2><strong>Join a high-performing team for an NYC-based custom apparel company</strong></h2> <p>This is <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/crisheld/">Crishel</a>, the Creative Director at Fresh Prints.</p> <p>I joined Fresh Prints right after college as an Artist. The job was intense. I was creating 16 designs from prompts… Every. Single. Day.</p> <p>I could do it if you asked me to. But more than that, I wanted to understand how creativity could drive impact. I wanted to see how ideas moved beyond a design file and shaped how people experience a brand.</p> <p>When I moved to the Growth Team, everything changed. It wasn’t just about making things look good anymore. It was about thinking like a marketer, contributing to strategy, and understanding how creative work connects to the business.</p> <p>The turning point came when my manager, Jolijt, said: “Okay Crishel, you’re in charge.” After multiple attempts to find the right Creative Director, she decided to take a chance on me. That shift forced me to rethink everything. I had to unlearn habits as a graphic designer and start thinking about vision, systems, and people.</p> <p>Today, creative work means more than aesthetics to me. It’s about how design serves the brand, how it makes people feel, and how it creates real value.</p> <p>Now, we’re looking for creatives who want to do more than execute designs. People who want to think bigger, collaborate deeply, and help build how creative work scales at Fresh Prints.</p> <p>If this sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you!</p> <h3><strong>Art Director</strong></h3> <p>We're looking for an Art Director who's hungry to own the visual identity of one of the fastest-growing brands in the US collegiate space. You'll be the creative authority on what Fresh Prints looks like — from brand campaigns to pitch decks to product launches — and you'll work directly with our Creative Director to make sure every asset tells a consistent, compelling story.</p> <p>This role isn't for someone who executes on what they're told. It's for someone with a real point of view, the visual chops to back it up, and great taste.</p> <h3><strong>What You'll Own</strong></h3> <p><strong>Brand Identity &amp; System</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the development and stewardship of the Fresh Prints brand system - color, typography, photography direction, iconography, and visual language</li> <li>Ensure every asset, from a paid ad to a sales deck, is undeniably Fresh Prints</li> <li>Build and maintain brand guidelines our team actually uses</li> <li>Partner with the Creative Director to evolve the brand system as Fresh Prints grows</li> </ul> <p><strong>Creative Production</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead art direction on brand campaigns, product launches, and marketing collateral</li> <li>Art direct and brief photographers, videographers, and freelance designers</li> <li>Produce high-quality assets fast — from quick social graphics to polished campaigns</li> <li>Maintain a quality bar that makes everything feel crafted, not thrown together</li> </ul> <p><strong>Creative Standards &amp; Collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Set and uphold the visual bar for everything that leaves the Creative team</li> <li>Give specific, actionable creative feedback that improves the work without demoralizing the people making it</li> <li>Collaborate closely with our Creative Director, Brand, and Marketing teams to ensure visual work serves the business</li> <li>Represent the brand visually in cross-functional projects</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Who You Are</strong></h3> <ul> <li>You have a strong opinion about what looks good and you can defend it clearly without being precious about it</li> <li>You have strong design fundamentals. You understand type, hierarchy, color, and layout at a level beyond personal taste</li> <li>You understand, respect, and love the customers — you know that your job is to design <em>for them</em>, not design in general.</li> <li>You think in systems, not just one-offs. Beautiful individual assets that don't cohere into a brand aren't good enough</li> <li>You give feedback that makes people's work better, not just your vision real</li> <li>You're fast. You know the difference between "good enough to move" and "not good enough," and you move accordingly</li> <li>You've actually been responsible for a brand's visual identity before, not just individual executions inside one</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Requirements</strong></h3> <ul> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>4 to 6 years of design or art direction experience, including meaningful time spent in-house at a brand (not only at agencies)</strong></li> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>Experience owning a corporate or consumer brand identity end-to-end&nbsp;</strong></li> <li>Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)</li> <li>Figma fluency for collaborative design and handoff</li> <li>Strong typography, layout, and photography direction instincts</li> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>A portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual range and executional consistency</strong></li> <li>Experience briefing and directing external creative vendors and freelancers</li> <li>Comfort working directly with senior leadership on high-stakes work</li> </ul> <p><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE: </strong>This is a talent pool.
