Veracyte is seeking exceptional candidates for a summer</p> <p>internship working with the Sustaining team. Your contribution will enable effective research and</p> <p>development in our lab, supporting scientists and creating an environment conducive to optimal work. Your</p> <p>responsibilities will involve ensuring the smooth operation of the lab by maintaining the inventory of</p> <p>supplies, reagents, and other materials, as well as organizing the lab. You will collaborate with a highly</p> <p>engaged team of scientists and work closely with other groups across Veracyte. Additionally, you will have</p> <p>opportunities for ongoing training and sharing ideas to continuously improve lab processes.</p> <p>Your assignments will include:</p> <p>· Handling biological/clinical specimens. Data entry into Freezer Management System.</p> <p>· Processing these specimens for NGS, including nucleic acid extraction and library preparation</p> <p>· Participating in experimental design, execution, and analysis</p> <p>· Conducting general lab maintenance and inventory management</p> <p>· Participating in continuous improvement activities/projects</p> <p>· Performing all laboratory activities in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program</p> <h3><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Who You Are:</span></h3> <p>You are a currently enrolled collegiate student (sophomore or higher) in good standing. You have excellent</p> <p>interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and computer and software skills. You are</p> <p>comfortable learning new software and communicating with scientists and non-scientists alike. You have</p> <p>demonstrated the ability to problem solve and proactively collaborate with peers. Previous lab experience in</p> <p>biotech or working in an academic lab is a plus.
