The company operates in a fast-paced environment where engineering excellence, scalability, resilience, and continuous innovation are key to delivering sophisticated products and services.</p> <p>The technology team works on complex distributed systems and modern cloud architectures, providing an environment where engineers can work with cutting-edge technologies while solving challenging problems in the financial services industry.</p> <h3>What You’ll Do</h3> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and enhance backend applications using Java, focusing on performance, scalability, resilience, and maintainability.</li> <li>Build and maintain microservices with Quarkus, contributing to modern cloud-native architectures.</li> <li>Develop and maintain frontend solutions using Angular, working across the application stack when required.</li> <li>Design and implement event-driven solutions using AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.</li> <li>Work with distributed architectures and contribute to building reliable and resilient systems.</li> <li>Implement and evolve observability practices, including logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.</li> <li>Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making, code reviews, and initiatives focused on engineering quality.</li> <li>Contribute to automation, continuous improvement, and engineering productivity.</li> <li>Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as Cursor or developer copilots, to improve development productivity and delivery quality.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.</li> </ul> <h3>What You Bring</h3> <ul> <li>Experience in software engineering, with a strong backend development focus.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in Java, with hands-on experience developing production-grade applications.</li> <li>Solid experience with Quarkus and Angular.</li> <li>Mandatory hands-on experience with AWS, particularly SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and API Gateway.</li> <li>Experience designing and developing microservices and distributed architectures.</li> <li>Understanding of event-driven architecture and cloud-based application development.</li> <li>Experience with observability practices, including metrics, logging, and tracing.</li> <li>Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.</li> <li>Practical experience using AI-powered engineering tools, such as Cursor or developer copilots.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams.</li> </ul> <h3>Nice to have</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with reactive programming, particularly Mutiny or Project Reactor.</li> <li>Previous experience working with financial markets, investment banking, or financial systems.</li> <li>Experience building highly scalable and resilient applications in cloud environments.</li> <li>Familiarity with modern AI-assisted software development practices and tools.</li> </ul> <h3>English level</h3> <p>Intermediate/Upper-Intermediate</p> <p><strong>Work Type:</strong> Remote</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Brazil</p> <h3>Legal &amp; Hiring Information</h3> <ul> <li>Exadel is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion across minority, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, and more</li> <li>Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions</li> <li>Please note: this job description is not exhaustive.
