About the Role
<p>Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.</p>
<p>We're seeking a Hardware Technician to manage and maintain our teleoperation hardware systems, including VR/AR headsets, teleoperation equipment, and laptops. This role is critical to ensuring our data collection operations run smoothly and our data collection Pilot team have the hardware support they need.</p>
<p>You'll be the go-to person for hardware setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance across our teleoperation infrastructure.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Set up, configure, and maintain VR/AR headsets and teleoperation equipment</li>
<li>Install, image, and configure laptops and workstations for the Pilot team</li>
<li>Troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity, performance, and calibration issues</li>
<li>Perform routine maintenance and calibration on teleoperation systems</li>
<li>Configure and manage network infrastructure, including switches, access points, and routers </li>
<li>Diagnose and resolve network issues including packet loss, bandwidth degradation, and intermittent drops that affect teleoperation sessions</li>
<li>Create and maintain documentation, setup guides, and troubleshooting procedures</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>2+ years of experience in hardware support, IT technician, or similar technical role</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with VR/AR headset setup and maintenance</li>
<li>Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, connectivity, and system configuration issues</li>
<li>Experience with laptop/PC imaging, configuration, and deployment</li>
<li>Familiarity with basic electronics, cable management, and equipment calibration</li>
<li>Basic networking knowledge and setup experience (Wi-Fi configuration, IP addressing, router provisioning, troubleshooting connectivity issues)</li>
<li>Excellent documentation and communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to lift equipment up to 30 lbs and work in a lab environment</li>
<li>Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Bonus Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in robotics, manufacturing, or automation environments</li>
<li>Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) or robotics platforms</li>
<li>Background in motion capture or VR/AR gaming systems</li>
<li>Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash)</li>
<li>Associate degree or certification in electronics, IT, or related field</li>

<p>The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $85,000 - $110,000 annually.</p>
<p>The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.</p>
